Chinese fighters are made in batches. Serial production is only economical when producing at a higher rate per year than demanded by PLAAF.

It is said to be a IRST rather than EOTS under nose. Does that mean it is used mainly for air to air rather than air to ground/sea target acquisition?
Neat, very neat.
Especially nice is the clear panels for the retractable IFR probe.
The EO IRST was determined to be a functional piece of hardware a few photos ago but this is also a nice close up.
How could one differentiate whether the said device is EOTS or EO IRST when no one has the exact data to pinpoint that it's EOTS or EO IRST.
