No problems...I didn't see any signs saying that pictures are not allowed, plus there were 4-5 other guys taking pictures, too. Anyway, tourists like us could only see a tip of the iceberg. We couldn't even get close to the actual shipyard. It just happened that I was traveling to a nearby tourist destination called Whampoa Military Academy (where Chiang Kai Shek initiated the Northern Expedition) and passed by a giant shipyard constructing type 054As. Once I saw the type 054As (and Coast Guard vessels) under construction, I assumed that was HP, or else where in Guangzhou would they construct type 054As.
With a good telephoto lens, or high enough resolution...you do not need to.
That's the only place there for sure.
Unfortunately I only ran into HP based purely on luck. With Google Map censored in China, I don't think I can figure where the other military industries are located, especially Baidu Map censors the locations of all sensitive defense industries in China.Your picture is a very nice shot !!

and ChengDu, and ShenYang, and HuLudao ... ... until the year 2020,
hence you can take more detail pictures of the new FFG ? ... ... 054B ?
