Look at the quote from NYT in one of my earlier posts, yesterday. Turkey sponsors "rebels" in the area to ensure it gets a bigger say in the future of Syria. It is angry at those terrorist being taken out by ground forces supported by the Russian air force. So it attacks a Russian aircraft employed in the operation. The likelihood is that they will now all be destroyed.

Russian FM backs closing Syria-Turkey border
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has backed French President Francois Hollande’s proposal to close the Syrian-Turkish border, it has been reported.
“Going back to the news conference of Presidents of France and the United States Francois Hollande and Barack Obama in Washington, I noticed that the French president suggested taking steps to close the Turkish-Syrian border to stop both the flow of militants and terrorist financing,” the Russian minister said, according to Russian news agency TASS.
“We would be ready to seriously consider the steps necessary for this.
“Many say that, by closing this border, we will effectively curb the terrorist threat in Syria,” Lavrov added.

I don't know if they were able to pre plan things that accurately but those Islamist Gray Wolf Turks and other Turkish military/intelligence groups have been acting with impunity across the Syrian border for a long time. The Turks made a really bad move in shooting down that Russian fighter. It's like playing chess with the Russians if you make one bad move, it will cost you too dearly. Now the Russians are going to ''clean up'' the Syrian-Turk border where these Turk sponsored terrorists have been operating against Syria and there is nothing the Turks can do except watch them get bombed like there's no tomorrow, No more oil smuggling into Turkey cause all trucks going to Turkey will be bombed. In other words, Turkish sponsored terrorists will be hit hard. Those Turkmen shouting ''Allah Ackbar'' after they killed the Russian pilot are going to be dead, really soon.
