I don't doubt the ships ability to repair aircrafts. It would be pretty incompetent if they don't already setup such team to do the task.

I'm not at all sure what they can do aircraft maintenance wise aboard CV-16.. I've never seen a single photo of a PLAN soldier working on an aircraft or aircraft component aboard CV-16..not one. Turning a wrench we use to say. Now that's not to say it does not happen but I've not seen this...ever..

Can the PLAN do these operations? Probably..but I've NEVER seen it. Have any of you?......and YES I've made this sort of post previously.

We've also never seen a J-15 be refuelled aboard Liaoning, we've never seen an 052D launch an HHQ-10 SAM, we've never seen 056 deploy its VDS... so on and so forth, but there's also no reason to suspect that they cannot.

Come on Popeye, there's reasonable skepticism and then there is being needlessly pedantic.

I'm not a surface warfare sailor so missiles etc hold little interest to me. Now the DF-21 is a different story.

I had to look up the word pedantic. That was a new word for me....and yes I'm ,

Have the aircraft of Liaoning a ground attack capability? Has Liaoning appropriate storage space for the required weapons in his magazines? Can the deck crew prepare and loaded such weapons? Can the deck crew unload such weapons and disarm, if appropriate? When has the Chinese Navy practiced to fly land attacks?

...why is PRC & CCTV & all other Chinese media being TIMID and wishy--washy yet AGAIN, and why stop at ISIS in Syria ?

Why not go after the MASTER villain by going all the way to the Uyghur malicious scoundrel masters in Ankara, Turkey.
GreenestGDP, you have been warned about this before.

STOP beating war drums and advocating for war between nations.

Turkey has officially announced its opposition to ISIS and terror, and is in fact fighting them, both inside of Turkey and out.

The rest is conspiracy theory.

That, and advocating for war are NOT ALLOWED on SD.

You are receiving a warning for this. The next such infr4action will lead to a suspension from SD.

DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS MODERATION.

J-15 has been seen carrying various bombs and anti ship or stand off missiles before, and during Liaoning's trials we also had pictures of various piece of armament (possibly mock ups) aboard Liaoning.
I expect the ship and crew would be capable of performing all those tasks, but we will probably not receive confirmation of it for many years, if at all.

Big shrimp is a general term for those who are well respected with high reputation members (Some insiders) in the Chinese forums. Big Cat is just fzgfzy's nick name and no one else because his avatar is a cat.

We've seen at least 14 serial production painted J-15s pics already, it's not a surprise if there are 20 of them with Liaoning right now. It was mention by one of the big shrimp in CJDBY.
In fact, YikeCat on CJDBY who is also a Big Shrimp has an avatar of a cat.

I remember those photos. I also remember thinking that we all would see more transparency from the PLAN with photos and video of CV-16. Specifically after those first videos about three years ago of arrested landings and deck launches...remember? Oh well. Life goes on.

LOL -- speak for yourself, I was happy with the transparency we had at the time because I knew the chances of the Navy being even more open was simply a dream we couldn't hold onto.

I go back to CJDBY forum to re-check what JFMaverick posted the other day on the number of J-15s thread, he actually just said there are 20 J-15s, but he didn't said all of them are on Liaoning carrier at this point. It was just me assuming all the J-15s are on board the Liaoning. My apologies for misquoting JFMaverick. :p

But we've seen pictures of 15 serial production painted J-15s already, it's not out of question that there are few more J-15s out there that we haven't seen. No pictures doesn't mean is not there, just mean that we haven't seen it in pictures. Same thing with the number of J-15s onboard Liaoning, we've observed five J-15s the most on the flight deck of Liaoning also doesn't necessarily meant there is only five on the carrier, whose to say how many J-15s is in the hangar?:D

When did this JFMaverick guy become a legitimate source? There are certain cjdby members like fzgfzy, angadow and a couple of other guys I would say have some real intelligence out there, and the stuff they post should be taken seriously. Most of them should just be taken with a grain of salt like anything else. btw, I don't care how many at the moment at in service and how well trained they are at this moment. We just need to be very careful about which sources from Chinese forums to consider. In the end, the best proof is a real photo or an authentic article. Nothing else can beat that.
