Latest photo showed that the last of 053H2G, FFG 542 is still hosting PLAN flag at stern. Implying its active service status.

Meanwhile CCG 31240 (formerly PLAN FFG 540) has raised multi-signal flags, ready for official transfer from PLAN to China Coast Guard.

Does that mean they are adding training vessels to the fleet or about to retire a training vessel in the process?
not really sure, I'm guessing probably another to the fleet.

Now sure three Jiangwei I/053H2G transfered to the China Coast Guard, the third # 541 or 542 ?

The four was based to Shangai-Wusong, 8th Frigate Sqn, ESF soon the 4th retired also then get 056 ?

Why are they putting out of service the more modern Jiangwei class frigates and transfer them to the coast guard when there are still about a dozen older Jianghu's still active in the fleet.

The urgency for stop gap measures to transfer whatever available ships into CCG service has passed. I don't think CCG will accepts old and un-economically operating ships from others now that more and more new CCG ships are being launched.

These ex-PLAN frigates 539, 540 and 541 still have more than 10 years of economical operation lives, which are better choice than those older ships.
