Just on the news NATO is creating a 40000 reaction force this is getting real interesting and not in a good way
 
just a nitpick here:
I would expect them to carry no cruise missiles, three quarters anti-air and one quarter anti-ship or something similar.

I have also thought of the possibility that the tubes are too short for the cruise missiles and are lengthened by extension tubes, only to be used in fair weather. :) I would be surprised but not astounded if they did use those.

I doubt it would be possible to lengthen and shorten VLS tubes at short notice (i.e. without help of shipyard) . Anyway, in video released by Russian ministry of defense below, especially at 0:39 and 1:38 they look normal to me . Simply, we have entered new age of naval combat where even small inexpensive warships of lake flotilla (Caspian Sea is actually large lake ) became strategic weapons .

I would only take this news seriously if it were started by news outlets from other countries.
