Greetings to all my dear friends at SinoDefence Forum. As you have all noticed I have not been very active lately, this is many due to some health concerns. I am currently at Stage 2 hypertension and very close (almost) to stage 3. I will therefore be utilizing my free time to exercise and reduce my stress. Not that SDF is stressful (my job, the economy, and all crisis happening in the world that I cannot control are the major causes) on the contrary it is a place of fellowship with my kindred friends. However, I am under strict orders to
exercise and rest in order to fully recover from my illness. My family and I have decided that I need to set my priorities for my health since I am in a delicate situation that can be treated and can recover from.

So my dear friends this is not a goodbye, but a hiatus until I get better. I am so grateful for all the friends that I have made and I hope to keep corresponding and meet you all someday at the big SinoDefense Forum convention (I vote Miami).

Cheer and drinking some red wine for medicinal purposes only.

P.S.:I will answer all mails

told you guys he was making a slightly sweet dry red, calls it
"MD-RED", LOL. I've been hypertensive since my divorce at age 35?? I take four lovely pills a day, I do ride a bike, I have an older Cannodale, and a 2006 Pinarello Prince that I just built this spring, but the goofy county, chipped and sealed our black-top, loose gravel on top of oil, not to good to ride on? LOL get well brother, and you are in our prayers.

Greetings to all my dear friends ...

On top of your doctor's advice and prescription, you can find out from the internet more about self-help and the latest findings. It is good also to be reminded by what you come across, from your surfing, of what you have been advised. Everyday, I look at the latest medical and health headlines even though I don't have any internal health problem. I am glad you are back here.

If you want a nice pictorial documentation of my 4,800 mile road trip from SW Idaho down to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, and our return trip through Minot, ND, to visit our daughter Rachel, her husband Chad and our new 11th grand child, Myles...take a look at the following Flickr Album:

I got an excellent report back on my bill of health. No new cancer. Bone fusion doing far better than expected. Spots treated last year with radiation appear either completely stunted and neutralized or dead. As with all major cancer...there is no sure thing medically...but this was about as good a report as I could get.

This is Deino's new book...and it is already out on Amazon.

Is this the one we have been speaking of Deino, that the publisher did not want you to prematurely announce?

From the Introduction/Summary of the book:

amazon said:
From the South China Sea to the mountains of Nepal, the continued economic rise of the People’s Republic of China has led to a dramatic shift in the balance of power in the region. As a result, the relationship between China and its neighbors, as well as with the United States and its allies, has become increasingly important for the future of the region – and for the rest of the world. This uniquely compact yet comprehensive directory serves as a richly illustrated, in-depth analysis and overview of the most important conflicts in which China is currently involved – and those that it is likely to be involved with in the future – with a particular focus on People's Liberation Army air power.

Potentially catastrophic storm, Hurricane Patricia, about to hit Mexican Coast:

2015-1023-PM-Patricia.jpg

Two potentially helpful things with the landing is that, 1), the storm is fairly tightly wound, meaning the high winds do not extend as far out from the eye as they otherwise might, and 2), the eye looks to becoming ashore in a relatively unpopulated area between Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco.

But though the storm will weaken quickly in terms of winds, the heavy moisture is going to be extreme in Texas, and then later in the Ohio Valley.

You guys in Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and up towards Dallas...watch this storm and be careful.

Getting pounded by rain here in Cedar Park. Since the soil has been thoroughly saturated by Hurricane Patricia last weekend, we have an insane runoff factor and the rain raised the lake level by two feet within 24 hours.

Wish we had some man-made underground aquifers like the ones in San Antonio so we can hoard the water now and prep for the inevitable drought ahead. Too bad that it takes like two years just to expand a highway down here.

We are getting pounded in Houston now. We bought tons of candy, anticipating a Halloween on a Saturday. But it looks like not many will be able to venture out trick-or-treating tonight... Hmmm... What to do with all the candy? What to do??
