The deck and the hull itself seems too clean and straight for a carrier, i mean, there is no sign of the extended deck which is caracteristic of aircraft carriers. IMO, by now they should be appearing.
What can be seen now, is the hull up to the hangar floor. The overhangs only start from this level, so you can not see it now.

In American carriers the hangar floor is the main deck, everything about it is regarded as superstructures. In British carriers, the flight deck is the main deck. Chinese (and Russian) carriers appear to be built in American style.

Ahh..I've conferred with popeye and we think that this is an unknown type of ship under construction. We can see no definitive signs that this is or is not a CV/LHA. I do believe the Chinese have the ability to construct an CV.

The photos so far have proved nothing to us other than this is a large ship under construction..That stated.... Show us a stern shot with the ship out of the water and I'll tell you guys if it is a CV/LHA or not. Of course a CV/LHD type ship would need at least two screws to operate at the speed necessary to launch and recover aircraft...

Now we must say if it does turn out to be a CV/LHA we would not be surprised.

Enough said.

I had seen pictures of this before, but had not seen this video of the Liaoning. Especially from the 1:00 point on showing the joint naval task force.

And this one...though of activities that are a couple of years old, it is a good video compilation of J-15 activity aboard the Liaoning that I had not seen before. The video graphic is a CGI you can ignore, and you have to wait about 25 seconds for the actual video to start...but after that it is fine.:

These are aerial views of a graduation ceremony aboard the PLAN training building in Wuhan(?)that looks like an carrier..someone please translate. Thanks!

Not completely certain of the Chinese abbreviations, but it looks like to be the completion ceremony for the military discipline training for the new freshmen of the Shanghai Movie/opera/performing art college (not sure of the translation...). One thing that I am sure is that this has nothing to do with the actual military...

but the site is so cool. Is this the one in Wuhan??? Is this a site for actual CV training, or some kind of theme park???
