Nice photos....but were those helos really on the flight deck? Really.. I do not see a single sailor on the roof..It's too clean. Too me my salty eyes find it hard to believe that 5 helos are on the roof all by themselves.
Those photos are pure photo-op my friend.

They are for the public's consumption, and politicians. Not for experienced old salt's eyes like yours. LOL!

But she sure is purty and all cleaned up!

Now, having said that, I am sure that the exercises will go off, and I bet we will find some photos of the actual "work."

As I thought, these are pics right off the Australian Military image page:

The caption for these is:

Australian Defense said:
HMAS Canberra off the north Queensland coast with 5 MRH 90 aircraft on deck and her four Landing Craft deployed. The Australian Amphibious Landing Force based on the 2nd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (2 RAR from the 3rd Combat Brigade in Townsville) and MRH-90 helicopters from the 5th Aviation Regiment, also from Townsville, combine with the Navy's HMAS Canberra and embarked MRH-90 flight from 808 Squadron, and Royal Australian Air Force assets to conduct a series of amphibious training activities in North Queensland.

Here's some higher resolution pics of these photo ops:

Of course those pics are straight from the Department of Defence web page. Where else would you find high quality pics like those? And what is your point exactly Jeff?

And you can be sure over the coming weeks those MRH-90's won't be just sitting on the deck looking pretty. Plenty of work ahead for those on board.

My point is that they are right off the Defense web site.

That is all. No need to be testy...there was nothing untoward meant by it. You might chill a bit, mate.

There are plenty of places, numerous media outlets, that produce high resolution pictures of major exercise as well.

I understand full well that the MHRs will be exercised. Did you read my post to popeye? when the joint exercises of hitting the beaches and landing zones are actually pulled off, I am sure we will see many photos of them. I look forward to seeing them.

Very nice looking and to think they have two of them

JMSDF is gearing up too, off course JMSDF brings much more to the table

I joint exercise between RAN and JMSDF ARG would be a sight to see

Now these nations who had no such capability have it

And there's plenty of more flat tops in the pipeline

And it's obvious to anyone to see this is for public consumption photo opp not a exercise
