Chengkan village in early autumn
27-Aug-2015. Autumn scenery in Chengkan village, at the foot of Huangshan, Anhui Province.
The ancient village has a history of over 1,800 years, featuring an elaborate layout which consists of three main streets, 99 alleys and over ten heritage sites dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. The village is a collection of different styles of pavilions, buildings, bridges, temples and folk residences, the exquisite craft and marvelous wood, stone and brick carving exemplify the quintessence of the Hui school architectural style, that is why Chengkan was dubbed "Museum of ancient Chinese architectural art".

35 years ago, Shenzhen was an unknown little fishing village adjacent to Hong Kong. The transformation is incredible.
