If you want to move this into the fantasy category feel free to do so. I find it interesting that they are still so uncertain about incorporating a catapult system that they would be interested in producing a CGI of another ramp based carrier. Yes I know, "they" are not the officials in charge but they can't help but reflect the culture and aspirations of their country.

We have discussed this design at length.

It is indeed a fantasy.

Notice that they have a ramp on the angled deck. That's just not going to happen.

That area has to be open for bolters...ie. aircraft that miss the trap and have to apply full military thrust to take off and go around.

A ramp there would prove hazardous and perhaps fatal.

Also, the idea that they would build a 80,000+ ton, nuclear powered STOBAR carrier is just not realistic IMHO.

The people who created this are good artists...but that it what it is...art, as in fan art. I do not view this as a credible naval design.

A Fan Boi has single handily built a Pacific Fleet for the PLAN!! any interpretation will be appreciated...is this a game?
My interpretation is that they are really nice pictures and represent what numerous Chinese naval enthusiasts hope the PLAN can become in the Pacific.

In so doing, whether they realize it or not, they are mimicking a portion of what the US Navy already has in place in the Pacific.

And you know what they say, imitation is a strong form of flattery.

There is actually lots of diversity in all the chinese militrary forums. You always have three major hardcore groups including Chinese domestic military equipment fan boys, U.S military equipment fan boys, and Russian military equipment fan boys who go at it with each other all the time.

Yep...putting a ski-ramp on the angled deck clinched it as fan boy.

Now, someone somewhere will straighten that out...use PS to make it flat across the angled deck... and then they will regurgitate it as an official Russian navy design for sue.

This drawing is just done in ignorance of flight deck operations. spotting/parking the aircraft like this means that cannot turn those engines to start a launch or for a maintenance check. it means they will have to be re-spoted to do anything...and that is time consuming.

I think when a fan-boi creates something like this CG render they are just grasping at straws just to be different and create a reaction.
