My navy is all togheter in one base. One small gap to enter the ocean. One blow or blockade and its over. Kinda like ukraine

This discussion began with an article that said China had the longest dock, 700 meters long. I objected to that, said that it should have said pier, but that the term dock showed the writer didn't know what he was writing about. I think the discussion since then has been a waste of time.

At first I thought the writer meant dry dock size for ship construction and such.
Where and when this photo was taken? i think that if this was a military ship, it wouldnt have those flashy billboards, although that red banner is readable (what does it say?).
Directly or indirectly, I suspect that Xi's iron grip on control has something to do with this.
Not sure if that's a fair leap in logic, after all the chinese military overall is still more open than it was ten years ago, it's just the navy's carrier programme which is being particularly secretive -- and for good reason.
What good reason? What could they possibly be hiding? The USN wrote all the manuals on CV operations..all of them..What's the big secret? C'mon now...
There's nothing new the PLAN could reveal in CV operations. NOTHING..ZERO >>ZIP>>ZILCH>>> NADDA.
Are they hiding their strength? have the possibly advanced more than we laymen could imagine? Is CV-16 now fully loaded with aircraft? I don't know...but I bet my last ball cap that the USN has been shadowing the ship for some time now and knows the score..All of us would like to know what is really going on.
In the words of that great American SDF's own Jeff Head.."Time will tell".
