There are two black rectangles positioned inward of vertical fins, respectively. Are they openings of chaffs and flares?

could be, and if they were we'd have no way to confirm it.

however they are somewhat weirdly placed; I imagine placing them under the fuselage facing outwards to the flanks would be a better location.
also, I think on stealth fighters the decoy launchers should be somewhat concealed; in F-22 they're held within dedicated bays with doors. So what we see on J-20 might not be decoy launchers.

I wonder if I have at last managed to find the gun on the J20.

On the above picture, about half way between the left (plane's prospective) canard and main wing, there is a little darker coloured rectangular blemish.

What is more interesting is that immediately behind that, you could just about make out the outline of a much larger rectangular panel which I estimate to be around 1.5-2m in length with what looks like saw tooth at the back end.

Looks like a gun port and access panel for the gun itself to anyone else?

Good eye!

If it were only the small dark rectangular blemish I'd be a little skeptical, but the fact that there is a larger access door immediately behind it with the overall dimensions consistent with that for a gun, makes me think you could definitely be right!

It also helps that it's right where we expect it to be.

Good catch Master Wolf, remember, I used to call you a "bright lad", but now I'll just refer to you by the name or our favorite master sleuth, nice going Mr. Holmes, and good show. It is indeed on the Center of Gravity, and the centerline of the aircraft, as Blitzo has noted, right where it should be!

Good catch sir, and good show old man! that my boy is how you read the tea leaves, very straight up power of deduction and good eyes to boot!

Brat, are you looking at the sam pic I am for the gun?

What Wolf and Bltizo are talking about (shwon in red outline above) is set well to the left of the centerline (longitudinally), well back on the left intake, when looking from the front of the aircraft.

When speaking of the centerline, I would think you were talking about the centerline along the length of the aircraft.

Am I missing something?
