The PLAN has actually built four different versions or flights of the Type 072 LST, and has a total of 29 of them...split up as shown

Type 072 - 3 vessels
Type 072 II - 4 vessels
Type 072 III - 10 vessels
Type 072A - 12 vessels (and still building)

Yep...and those first three (the original Type 072s) have been transferred to the Chinese Coast Guard.

They are still active and in operation...only with the Chinese Coast Guard now and not the Chinese Navy (PLAN).

This is the best photo of a Chinese soldier working I've ever seen.

Period.

He's chaining down a Type 96 tank aboard an unknown PLAN LST.

Look at that sweat, the dirt ...the grime.

This is real.

Not one of those pristine pretty boys that sometimes are in PLA pix..yea.. look at the deck of the ship. It's dirty because those tanks were just in a landing exercise..this photo is OUTSTANDING!!

This is the normal everyday reality of life aboard such ships...or in the military in general when there is any exercise or deployment going on..

Lots of hard work to do...and the personnel are the ones tasked with doing it.

Yeah but why wear a life jacket on you are not in the water? I just find it odd and curious that's all.o_O
