Or maybe it's bright green color is easy for people or airplane to spot it from the air. Green is a peaceful color and not warship color, don't drop bombs on her. :p

Navy Frigate turned CCG ships 539, 540 and 541 are now 31239, 31240 and one with number not yet painted. First 2 digit "31" denotes Shanghai area. Last 2 digit indicate the last 2 digit of former numbers in Navy service (539, 540 and 541). Third digit "2" indicate the ships are above 2000 tons and above but below 3000 tons.

Those are indeed nice shots of the hanger.

You can see 2901 in the upper pic, back from her initial sea trials.

She went out on sea trials in July and is back. They are still outfitting 38901 but seem far advanced. I wonder when she is scheduled to go to sea?

PLAN Type 053H2G Frigates Transferred to China Coast Guard & Converted into Patrol Vessels

Recent spotter pictures from China show that the four Type 053H2G Frigates (NATO designation Jiangwei I) belonging to the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN or Chinese Navy) have been transferred to the China Coast Guard (CCG) and are being converted into patrol vessels.
