With the 2 last Su-35S delivered mid july now 36, 1st batch of 48 delivered for end of year after begin delivery for the 2nd, 40 Su-35S.
Also 2 Su-34 now 66 series.

I believe this is a part of the plan that they have had for some time to basically begin replacing the SU-33s with Mig-29Ks.

The Mig-29Ks are newer, will have a lot of service life in them, and will allow the Kuznetsov to carry more aircraft, have a stronger strike capability, and maintain their air defense capability.
As i have say some days ago finaly Su-33 remains in service.

Yes...the SU-33 remains in service now. but my understanding was that the Mig-29K ultimately would replace some (or all) of them in service.

This Mig-29K delivery (and future deliveries) will bring up the Mig-29K force in Russian naval aviation service to coincide with when Kuznetsov completes its refit in 2017 I believe.

Originally the idea was to develop a full new air wing for the Kuznetsov, when this replacement was first announced back in 2009.

But now it looks like 19 of the surviving SU-33s are going through some form of refit and modernization that is supposedly similar to the upgrade for the Su-27S.

This may indicate that those 19 will serve on longer, and provide for a mixed air wing for the Kuznetsov. If it does, I would imagine that the SU-33s would be tasked with air defense and the Mig-29Ks with strike duties.

Time will tell.

Russia’s newest Armata tank to be on display at RAE-2015 expo in Nizhny Tagil
The Armata was developed as a replacement to the T-95 tank

YEKATERINBURG, July 27. /TASS/. Russia’s newest tank on the Armata platform will be put on display on the second day of the Russia Arms Expo - 2015 (RAE-2015) exhibition, which will be held in Nizhny Tagil in Russia’s Urals region in September, director general of the Nizhny Tagil Institute of Metal Testing Nikolai Smirnov said on Monday.

"Complex demonstrations of military equipment within a company task group will be held on the first day of the exhibition. Armata will not take part in them. Such displays are for the equipment adopted by the Defense Ministry. New products, including the famous Armata tank, will be put on display on the second day of the exhibition. This is a traditional day for companies to present their new products, including in action," Smirnov said at a news conference in the TASS-Urals regional centre.

Armata is a heavy unified platform serving as a base for a tank and an infantry combat vehicle. The new tanks have received unmanned turrets, all digital control and isolated armoured crew capsules. The key armament of Armata is a 125-mm gun, but the use of a 152-mm gun is not ruled out in the future. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said previously that an Armata shell "burns a metre of steel." The Armata tanks were showcased during the Victory Parade in Moscow on May 9, 2015. These are experimental prototypes that returned to their manufacturer plant for improvement and later tests in troops, which are to be held in 2016. Serial production of these tanks is expected to begin in 2017-2018.

The Armata is a new Russian main battle tank (MBT) project. Sometimes it is referred to as T-14. Its development commenced in 2011. The Armata was developed as a replacement to the T-95 tank. The whole project was kept in high secrecy. First mock-up was revealed to Russian military officials in 2013. Trials commenced in 2014. Armata is a new-generation tank, which has little in common with the current T-90. Exact technical specifications of this MBT remain classified.

RAE-2015 will be held at the Staratel range of the Nizhny Tagil Institute of Metal Testing from September 9 to 12. The previous RAE exhibition, held in 2013, brought together early 470 exhibitors and delegations from 40 countries. The exhibition attracted more than 20,000 visitors.

In addition to a new engine, Russia’s elite Tupolev Tu-160M2 strategic bomber (“White Swan”) is capable of carrying cruise and nuclear missiles and will receive cutting-edge avionics, said Vladimir Mikheev, the adviser of the deputy head of Russia’s Radio-Electronic Technologies Concern (RETC), according to Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

The new avionics and electronic warfare system of the Tu-160, codenamed Blackjack by NATO military experts, will begin this year. Construction the of design materials and documentation of battle performance characteristics and technical specifications are currently underway, Mikheev informed. "There will be nothing left from the earlier version of Tu-160, only the platform. Much more advanced hardware will be installed on it," Mikheev said, as cited by Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

The new avionics system is currently being tested on the Sukhoi PAK FA Tu-50, Russia's fifth-generation fighter. After that, military engineers will take best elements tested on the Tu-50 and use them to create an aircraft with fundamentally new capabilities, the official representative of RETC said. The new strategic bomber will also be equipped with an advanced radio-electronic system, highly effective against anti-aircraft missiles.

The revival of the production of this bomber was announced by the Russian Defense Minister in April 2015. The Tu-160M2's advanced equipment will make it possible to increase its effectiveness by more than two-fold as compared to the old version.

2,000 Russians Gone to Iraq, Syria Including to Join ISIL
Head of Russia’s Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs Igor Barinov claims that about 2,000 Russians have left their country for Syria and Iraq, including to join the ranks of the radical ISIL organization.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – About 2,000 Russians have left their country for Syria and Iraq, including to join the ranks of the radical ISIL organization, Head of Russia’s Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs Igor Barinov said in an interview with the Kommersant newspaper.

"We have, according to various estimates, about 2,000 people who have already left for Syria, Iraq, ISIL" Barinov said on Thursday.

He added that the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs is cooperating with Russia’s special services on the creation of a unique system that could analyze internet website and mass media in order to detect extremist and terrorist propaganda and later block internet resources that include "dangerous content."

According to Barinov, the Muslim community in Russia also plays a crucial role in preventing the spread of radical Islam.

"We are certainly ready to cooperate with them as much as necessary, including in what concerns preparation and retraining of religious workers who need to be able to withstand a fight against propagators of false belief for the minds and souls of young believers," Barinov said.

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), also known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS), is a radical Sunni group that operates mainly in Iraq and Syria where it has captured vast areas.

Affiliated ISIL groups operate in North Africa, Yemen, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The militants, who recruit young fighters from across the globe using social media, are known for their grave human rights violations, such as mass killings and beheadings.

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) estimates that about 1,700 Russians have been recruited by Islamic State.

On Wednesday, FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov said that citizens from more than 100 countries are currently fighting among the ranks of the ISIL and the terrorist organization has taken the upper hand in propaganda.
