Two things would have to happen before US could have serious illegal immigration reforms: 1) Hispanics vote for Republicans in a big way (40% or more), and 2) Jailing employers who hire illegal alens to save payroll

I very much agree with 2) but isn't 1) likely to influence Republicans away from cracking down on illegal immigration?

Slow progress: It took hours for the army to remove the tank from the basement
Police in northern Germany have seized a World War Two tank which was being kept in a pensioner's cellar.

The Panther tank was removed from the 78-year-old's house in the town of Heikendorf, along with a variety of other military equipment, including a torpedo and an anti-aircraft gun,

. It wasn't an easy job to get it all out - the army had to be called in with modern-day tanks to haul the Panther from its cellar. It took about 20 soldiers almost nine hours to extract the tank - which was without its tracks - and push it onto a low-loader, the report says. As the surreal scene unfolded, local residents gathered at the end of the driveway to watch.

Prosecutors in the nearby city of Kiel are investigating whether the man's military collection violates Germany's War Weapons Control Act. But his lawyer says the weapons are no longer functional, therefore shouldn't be restricted.

Local prosecutors were tipped off about the cellar's contents by colleagues in Berlin, who searched the home for stolen Nazi art earlier this year.

It seems the tank's presence wasn't much of a secret locally. Several German media reports mention that

What is a Western diet?

"The biggest features [of a Western diet] are overconsumption of over-refined sugars, highly refined and saturated fats, animal protein and a reduced intake of plant-based fibers," says Ian Myles, from the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. This translates to a diet high in fat, red meat, salt and sugars, and low in fiber.

"Too many calories in general,"......

But processed meat is given short shrift.

Yes, if Hispanics consistently vote Republican, then the Rinos would do the opposite of cracking down. But before that could happen, Democrats would see the writing on the wall, and demand strong border controls.

China's 'Breaking Bad'? Chemistry professor busted for drug lab

A Chinese 'Walter White': A Wuhan chemistry professor has been arrested for producing psychoactive drugs worth millions of dollars

Hong Kong (CNN) A chemistry professor in China has been arrested for producing hundreds of kilograms of psychoactive drugs bound for the U.S., UK, Canada, and Australia, Chinese state media reported.

Discovering that certain drugs were in high demand while in Australia as a visiting academic, the man surnamed Zhang, set up a lab to produce methylone, a commonly-used substitute for MDMA, Xinhua quoted police as saying.

Dubbed China's real-life Walter White, a reference to the fictional chemistry teacher and methamphetamine producer in the hit TV show "Breaking Bad", police said he'd sold at least 193kg of drugs, valued at millions of U.S. dollars.

Zhang founded a company in 2005 under the guise of producing medical coating and solvent, recruiting staff to produce drugs and sold them through mail order overseas, police said.

Authorities discovered his illicit drug business last November when customs agents found at least nine parcels from the same mailer contained white powder.

On June 17, authorities raided Zhang's lab in Wuhan. Seven other people were arrested and about 20 kg of drugs were seized.

He is not the first professor in China to be arrested for cooking up illegal drugs. Back in May, a man surnamed Lu and 16 others were arrested for producing methcathinone, known as a "poor man's cocaine."
