Alas, Type 03 lacks underslung grenade launcher or such, and if compactness matters they'd reject the C-OICW as well, thus severely limit the fire power options available to airborne footmobiles.
There is however no reason why Norinco or any other vendor with access to the QBZ03 could adapt a existing or Design a under barrel grenade launcher in any number of calibers.

In theory they could, however because the Type 03 have such a long foregrip that, if to make a underbarrel grenade launcher, they've to do it like the M16/M203 combo, instead of AK-74/GP-30 combo style.

And due to Type 03 has such a limited production run, the incentive to make a special model for it is not that high...that said, they might as well be equipped with some stand-alone grenade launcher that's not as bulky as the QLZ-87 and its successor models now available to PLA...unless the designated grenadier issed with SMG for sidearms or something...

There are other models then the AK or AR... I know Shocker.
The SIG GL 5040 has a Much longer Hand guard and similar Receiver. The Launcher it's self is derived from the M203, There are also M203 adapter mounts that allow mounting on AK or any number of weapons including MP5

If to standardise ammo with the rest of the army, then the grenade ammo would've to be the same front-loading type...

that takes us back to adapting a existing design. IE a Adapter. that could allow use of the system used on the QBZ95 it would just have to clear the magazine and be stable enough not to break with firing.

While QCW05 is nothing new, it's rarely seen on display with its scope, or be photographed with such details.

Oh, it was me who unscrewed the silencer, think those soldiers a bit surprised how come there was a civilian who knows how to do it, whereas almost every other visitors at the scene couldn't even held a gun properly...?DSC_1902.JPG
Those slots should be what locked the silencer in its place. And it seems that those silencers carries matching serial numbers with its SMG...
