Wow check the giant which is the Zubr !

They will add a powerful punch to the navy and between the 4 of them could land a naval infantry battalion and their equipment on a beech head enough to secure it and pave the way for larger wave of marines to land

This type of manoeuvre could contain the element of suprise and be a great gamer changed in amphibious operations

who is producing NK-12 now? If it is in Russia, there is a bargin chip in Russian hand. China (forced) buying Zubr from Russia would be more than likely (like Su-35).

The NK_Engines_Company is a Russian company that also produces the engines for the Tu-160.

I guess that china also got the blueprints for it. Russia was pissed off because it was passed over by ukraine when china signed the agreement to acquire the zubr (russia was asking 1 billion. china rejected it and got 300 million from ukraine). I doubt that russia would want to sold those engines to ukraine/china. So i assume that ukraine already had the factory and blueprints for it.

Your too optimistic on setting up production for a very large engine even when it is of a 60 years old design.

I don't think it's that easy to just pass over production of something as complicated as the turbine engine though.

Will be interesting to see if China has the indigenous capabilities to produce the appropriate engines.

Well, assuming that china didnt get those schematics, then how did ukraine/china get those 20 nk-12 engines? even if we assume they were old engines left from the soviet era, what about the spare engines/parts for future needs? unless china is planning to buy them from russia? would russia want to do that?
