This morning an item in BBC Radio 4 news program Today concerned the fact that the British economy grows while labour productivity does not, even falls. An investigation, said someone in that program, had concluded that very many people are working for short periods and at a level below their capabilities. He did that without connecting that to the government supported trend to greater labour flexibility which means that people get fired before they win the experience to become more productive.

Yunnan man keeps 'dogs' for 2 years before realizing they're black bears

is it so difficult to distinguish a bear from dogs?

A man in Yunnan recently discovered that he'd been raising two Asian black bears for the past two years under the impression that they were dogs. Asian black bears, mind, are listed as a class II protected species and are most certainly not dogs.

LOL, the shanghaiist makes the most ridiculous claims and stories. Their reliability is about on par with Cracked.

This guy obviously got caught with protected species and is using this as an excuse.

I had a friend when he was in college walk into a K-Mart and tried to use a two-dollar bill to purchase something. The cashier wouldn't accept it because he never seen or heard of a two-dollar bill and thought it was fake. My friend insisted it was real and the cashier called the manager and he also thought it was fake. Sorry my money is on the person at Wal Mart didn't even know that was an ISIS flag and what it meant.

Are you sure your friend went to K-Mart and not Taco Bell? ;)

Slow progress: It took hours for the army to remove the tank from the basement
Police in northern Germany have seized a World War Two tank which was being kept in a pensioner's cellar.

The Panther tank was removed from the 78-year-old's house in the town of Heikendorf, along with a variety of other military equipment, including a torpedo and an anti-aircraft gun,

. It wasn't an easy job to get it all out - the army had to be called in with modern-day tanks to haul the Panther from its cellar. It took about 20 soldiers almost nine hours to extract the tank - which was without its tracks - and push it onto a low-loader, the report says. As the surreal scene unfolded, local residents gathered at the end of the driveway to watch.

Prosecutors in the nearby city of Kiel are investigating whether the man's military collection violates Germany's War Weapons Control Act. But his lawyer says the weapons are no longer functional, therefore shouldn't be restricted.

Local prosecutors were tipped off about the cellar's contents by colleagues in Berlin, who searched the home for stolen Nazi art earlier this year.

It seems the tank's presence wasn't much of a secret locally. Several German media reports mention that

. But he later added: "I took this to be the eccentricity of an old man, but it looks like there's more to it than that."

God bless you Sir in your fight to keep and Bare Arms..

He would have been around 7 or 8 when Germany surrendered. Wondered where he got all that from, and whether someone decides to get him to hide the wares rather than surrendering it.
