NLMFbpL.jpg

(Defensa.com) El Salvador sent a contingent of 90 soldiers to Mali in the framework of the Integrated Mission Multidimensional Stability of the United Nations (MINUSMA). Salvadoran teams will be based in the city of Timbuktu, they will be commanded by Colonel Juan Aníbal Hernández Aviation Pilot Lara and have the support of three helicopters. The unit will operate along Gaza's call Azawad.

The devices are the MD 500E FAS 48, 49 and 50 with the UN register (UNO87P, UNO88P and UNO89P respectively), which were embarked on a B-747 Kalitta Air. They are the same as USA donated a couple of years ago the country. The Salvadoran Air Force began using the MD 500 in 1979, precisely when he defected one OH-6-A machine from Nicaragua, which received registration FAS 30. 6 models 500D would be used during the internal conflict, through the hands of FAS 32 the National Civil Police (PNC) in 1995, suffered an accident in the Chagüite, El Pedregal, La Paz, in 2003. The FAS 30 crashed in January 2005 about Cuzcatlán bridge. Of the 15 new MD500E which come from 1985, they carried the numerals 11 FAS FAS 36 to 47. Of these, 2015 enrollment survived the FAS 38, 42, 45, 46, and 47, which are the last three numbered from October 2012. At the time of internal conflict, the MD500 operated with 7 rockets and machine gun GAU due to weight restrictions.

A small liaison group apparently anticipated the Salvadoran contingent in March, and the entire group would receive training in peacekeeping operations for five months. It is expected that the mission of this first contingent was extended one year, with a total turnover spent in five years, depending on the mandate of the UN. Each contingent should receive training in the desert area operations and a course of survival for the crew in case of accidents, as well as training in maintenance and care of equipment in the same field. Upon receipt of the command flag, the teams were fully uniformed clear camouflaged desert holder vests boots, and personal weapons. For the first time a Salvadoran military contingent in support of the UN in the framework of Operations Peacekeeping work independently without the help of other nations. The UN mission was established on April 25, 2013, and deployed a few months later, on July 1 of that year, to stabilize the situation in northern Mali. The MINUSMA currently has 9,000. (JMAH)

(Defensa.com) After being launched on 8 May, the ARC 241 "Gulf of Uraba," the second Amphibious Landing Ship (BDA) designed and built in Colombia by The Corporation of Science and Technology Industry Development Naval, Maritime and River (Cotecmar), is in its phase of sea trials before being delivered to the Navy of Colombia.

This second "BDA" called MKll, as the second generation of these vessels is part of a plan to modernize the Navy has established the construction of 6 Amphibious landing ships, designed entirely by Colombian engineers under the specifications required by the Navy, which called for an improved performance in multi-platform deployments to offer higher landing operations, not only personal, also of vehicles and heavy machinery, with available capacity in the cargo deck for rolling stock, operations logistical support through the handling of containers, ro-unitized cargo and refrigerated cargo, while providing essential support in humanitarian aid. These BDA replace the old LCU units (6 units) LCM-8 (3 Units) and MATC (9 Units) assigned to the Marine Corps.

The ARC 241 "Gulf of Urabá" substantial improvements has allowed him to increase their autonomy and improve their ability to load more than 200 tons, in addition modifications were made to the crane with a capacity of 8 tons and allows you to land your cargo ports unprepared for this purpose, the ship has a length of 45.8 meters, a width of 11 meters and a draft of 1.5 meters. The height of the molded depth is 3.10 meters and moved 625.7 tons.

According to the deputy director of the Russian Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation, Anatoly Punchuk, acquiring new combat cars it has been treated repeatedly between the two countries and Peru could're interested in modernizing their tanks T-55. The proposal, for which, moreover, the Latin American country has today allocated budget, would affect about 200 vehicles. Although the former head of the Defense Ministry of Peru, Pedro Cateriano, ruled at the time the purchase of Russian T-90S, if the acquisition of holdings between 70 and 100 combat vehicles, a program in which the BTR- 80 has good options.

In 2013 the Russian Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu, made a trip to Latin America in Peru offered to sell 110 tanks T-90S and many other wheeled armored vehicles BTR-80S for approximately 700 million dollars. In September last year the agreement was extended to 140 tanks, a figure that today would have been reduced significantly, but was postponed because of the presidential elections to be held in the country in 2016.

As we reported recently, following the event SITDEF Defense, Rosoboronexport has offered the Army of Peru provide between 70 and 110 armored vehicles BTR-80 (8x8) in a co-production and assembly plant to be located in the Armored Maintenance Centre ( CEMABLIN). To reduce operating costs and delivery times, the aerospace company ITR held in Queretaro Cidesi fatigue tests of its low-pressure turbines, which are currently made in the US and Europe.
SANTA LUCIA, State of Mexico (5/23/2015) .- The Center for Advanced Technology which is incubated at the Center for Engineering and Industrial Development (Cidesi) the state of Queretaro, tests for fatigue for low pressure turbines The company manufactures aerospace industry Turbo (ITR), a subsidiary of the Spanish multinational Industria de Turbo Propellers (ITP).

The company puts Mexico in the majors in the sector, since few countries in the world have companies with proven experience in the supply of low pressure turbine capacity, and thus seeks to reduce manufacturing costs and delivery times with this new project Cidesi recently commissioned, which has a laboratory of composite materials for the aerospace industry whose customers are Bombardier, Helicopter and Safran Group, among others. In the latter area metrology provides "service calibration and certification of all measurement tooling."

To tell Gabriel Aguirre Morales, Project Engineer and Manager of Laboratory Composites of Cidesi these processes (fatigue testing) are at an early stage, since even ITR not certified as reliable suppliers and when this happens Institute Research will be responsible for these jobs currently done in the United States and Europe.
Interviewed during the first edition of the Aerospace Fair Mexico 2015, which is held at the Military Air Base in this town in the municipality of Tecamac, the scholar explained that the approval of this project, which will be submitted to evaluation of ITR, will bring an economic benefit to the research institute, but also open the door to new projects with the same company and others in the sector.

The engineer, graduated from the Technical University of Guanajuato, said that this project work mechanical engineers and high-tech features (American machines MTS) for this type of testing.

The Queretaro state government reiterated that "El Centro (Advanced Technology) is an escalation process. Let's start with composite materials, certification of composite materials, compound materials, but obviously the place can have research in composite materials, nondestructive testing, design, aluminum, in many things and as a center of technology " .

Notably, the project of low-pressure turbines ITR is "high technological content covers all steps of the value chain of the aerospace industry (conceptualization, design, prototyping, testing, validation, raw materials, manufacturing, assembly and maintenance ), very difficult and expensive to relocate, long-term (40-50 years, which is the typical life of an aircraft engine) and develop the local supply chain for aircraft engines, "the company said in a statement.
