When either 093s or 094s are launched in Huludao, we can see them on Google Earth. However, while the Pentagon said that 095s and 096s are either launched or are going to be launched soon, we don't really see them on Google Earth. Or is it possible that the so-called 093Gs are actually 095?

or it was being built in the tunnel .... just a possibility

Looks like that simulator is for the Type 095's combat and sensor systems, which would likely be an upgrade over the Type 093 (and presumably the 093G as well).

There will be an Eastern Arsenal post about that soon enough.

I don't remember reading anything about 096 going to be launched soon. It would be good if you can just stop guessing so much.

A lot of the speculation goes back to a US Defense official indicating in 2013 that the JL-2 would soon be sent on patrols (in 2014). Some sites (like Defence.pk, asiafinest.com, bbs.miercn.com) picked up on it back then and assumed it would be with the Type 096 and then reported it as such.

See the following Washington Times reports from 2013 for the original source of these rumors where the quote makes it clear that it is talking about the Type 094 SSBN and not the Type 096:

Anyhow, Wikipedia and others cite those other articles indicating that the Type 096 is already launched and started patrols...when it has never been confirmed at all that a Type 096 has even been launched, much less gone on patrols.

This is all, of course, old news on SD. But many people searching for these things read the other stories (particularly on Wikipedia) and take them for fact.

That is precisely why Wikipedia cannot really be trusted as an accurate source.

Sometimes it is correct...but a lot of times it represents things like this precisely because about anyone can edit and post things there.

For the four 094 announced number 409, 410, 411 and 412 good ?

How did they come up with 12 to 24 miles in VLS? Has anyone even seen a photo of 093B with VLS? For that matter, how do they know 095 will have VLS if it has not been built yet?

Yeah, that's something I'm a bit iffy about on the eastern arsenal blog as well, @Skywatcher.

As appreciative as I am of the relative speediness and accuracy of the blog putting out new information and pictures that we may get regarding new PLA toys, I think the blog sometimes jumps the gun a little either regarding specs, number of units deployed and whether a new project is even deployed in the first place.

While I can understand the need to generate a degree of "sensationalism" to attract a readership, it is probably worth prefacing most of the claims made on the blog, with something like "could have... XYZ capability" rather than phrasing it like such a capability is fully confirmed to exist. It may even be worth having an entry on the blog for just where the information tends to come from and the process (as well as inherent difficulty) of accurate PLA watching and reporting.

Eastern Arsenal is starting to get noticed by a number of western defence watchers and thinktanks and is considered a relatively "reliable" source by them given its affiliation with a relaitvely respected brand name (popular science, namely), while it also of course provides a good glimpse of new developments and capabilities which most traditional western PLA watchers and commentators ignore. But that also means there is a responsibility to provide relatively accurate information without hyping things up too much, imho

we don't really know what that "hump" is on the 093B, right?
