NORTHERN MINCHES (April 21, 2015) An MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the Vipers of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSL) 48, detachment 3, launches from the flight deck of the Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 (SNMG2) flagship guided-missile cruiser USS Vicksburg (CG 69). NATO's Standing Naval Forces, SNMG2, and Standing NATO Mine Counter Measures Groups 1 and 2 are participating in Joint Warrior with 55 warships and submarines, and 70 air assets from Allied countries. In total, the exercise involves approximately 14,000 personnel training and operating together to develop specific war fighting skills through diverse training and credible scenario development. OKINAWA, Japan (April 24, 2015) Utilitiesman 2nd Class Elmer Agonias, a Seabee assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5, secures the rear of his patrol while other Seabees carry a simulated injured team member on an improvised stretcher down a steep hill at Jungle Warfare Training Center in Okinawa. More than 60 Seabees from NMCB-5 attended the weeklong course taught by Marine instructors.
