That's a Delta Class (Delfin) SSBN that has broken through the ice and is test firing a SLBM.I found this picture and thought it was incredible. Does anyone know which class of Russian submarine this is?

either a Delta III or IV. impossible to tell at the distance since they kinda look alike externally. That's a Delta Class (Delfin) SSBN that has broken through the ice and is test firing a SLBM.
22 Delta Is and IIs were built and commissioned between 1971 and 1976 (all are retired and scrapped), 14 Delta IIIs commissioned between 1976 and 1982 (two of which are still active), and 7 Delta IVs commissioned between 1984 and 1990.(all of which are still active).
Those active vessels are slated to be replaced by the new Borei class SSBN.
is it just me or does the main gun not have a fume extractor? it may be using fume scavenging system via the line running down the length. This would make it more suited to firing all kinds of ammo not to mention missiles. Definitely has an autoloader for sure.
