Wasn't the Jiangnan shipyard supposed to build the carrier?

A fresh rumor from Henry claims that the Type 002 will be 20,000 tonnes heavier than the 001A/Liaoning, so at ~85,000 tonnes fully loaded.

Dalian builds first indigenous carrier, Jiangnan builds the second.

Good going !!! However I only see 4 Flankers on the deck like the last time. I wonder when this photo is taken and how many more Flankers there are out of view.

If it's a military vessel I think what we're seeing are the beginnings of the first Chinese LHD as mentioned in this article:


China really does not have the need nor the budget for CV's now that they have the Liaoning to experiment with, I believe even that was an opportunistic acquisition. Having a LHD to experiment with next makes a lot more sense. A LHD is also more useful than a CV in China's MOOTW and outlying islands scenarios.
