Here's some nice pictures of the Brazilian Carrier, Sao Paulo, A12. These are after the more recent refit.
As you can see, there are no weapons systems for self defense.

From everything I have seen, the 100mm guns and the Simbad & Crotale missile launchers were all taken off long ago when the carrier was delivered.

The only weapons I have been able to see in Brazilian service have been several 12.7mm machine guns mounted around the carrier to combat small craft and boarders.

In French service as the Foch, the other weapons were plain to see. Here you see, from the stern port quarter, one of the Crotale missile launchers aft, and two of the 100mm guns forward.

Problems with the Brazilian government payments to civil segment redirect activity Helibras

ec-725-br.jpg

(Defensa.com) The arrears from 50 EC-725 helicopters acquired some years ago by the Brazilian government (about 208 million euros, two installments of the 17 agreed, each of 104 million) and the announcement Prior to slow deliveries in two years until the end of the program, have made Helibrás- Brazilian subsidiary Airbus decides Helicopters- largely guide their proposals to the civilian market, powered by the current exploration of hydrocarbons, win a center activity exclusive attention in Rio de Janeiro by the group. So in the coming months that goal, including areas such as maintenance and spare parts in the equation should be achieved.

There are already 40 helicopters Airbus working on oil zones, including 14 EC-225, and growing trend in a market, including civilians, military and police, soon exceed 750 specimens of native European conglomerate, or 47% of the local fleet. For due attention there are several simulators, from Aeschylus AATD 350B2 to Shefe (Helicopter Simulator Aeschylus and Fennec) developed by local firm Spectra next to the Technology Center of the Army, an FFS Level B. However, soon to be inaugurated in Rio de Janeiro a complex of two simulators EC-725 and 225 in what will be its new Training and Simulation Center, which will facilitate and cheapen the training of local pilots, who will need not travel abroad for it. In recent days, Helibrás organized a successful tour of the EC-145 T 2 for various cities in Brazil.

The "Brazilian Army Airship" project became official in 1997 and was born when the army took the initiative to further research on the use of these aircraft to conduct strategic logistics operations, keeping their detachments along the border, especially in the Amazon.

In 2004, the Army coordinated the creation of a Special Purpose Entity (SPE) in a memorandum of understanding signed, besides their army, several companies, including Bertolini Company. The project evolved, and June 1, 2005, the constitution of the company, which had its first facility in Barueri São Paulo was formalized. As of October 5, 2010 the company moved its headquarters to the city of São Carlos.

Currently, in addition to projects already developed by ADB, including two unmanned aircraft models, the ADB-1 (four meters long and providing 2 kg of payload) and the ADB-2 (16m long and 20 kg load) are underway nationalization programs airship US as the Skybus (locally called ADB-3-3) and aircraft ADB-AX family, employment, especially in tasks of public security, defense and telecommunications. Currently, the group's priorities facing the research and development of an aerial platform with up to 30 tons of cargo to meet inspection, maintenance, construction of power transmission lines and access to deficit regions logistics infrastructure.

Statewide, the airship is evaluated for tasks of defense, public security, border surveillance, communications and environmental. As far as public safety is concerned, airships and aerostats can serve as a platform for installation of cameras and sensors for data collection for public safety, reduced costs when compared to current media. In addition, blimps are platforms excellent cost-benefit ratio for strategic data collection, such as in mineral prospecting, inspection of electrical transmission lines and pipelines. In border control, aerostats can be used as a platform for low cost and ongoing work to monitor borders.

The first airship Airship will be delivered within 18 months of signature Eletronorte to transport personnel and heavy equipment in the Amazon region. These projects were also presented to NASA, the government of Alaska and the US State Department. In Brazil, the Ministry of Public Security of the State of Amazonas bought in 2013, a Swiss brand Swissteps airship, model Falcon SF7000GC.

Originally the Army and Navy of Brazil thought in a heavy airship, which should be allocated 26 units to cover the Amazon. In turn, since 1996, the Centro de Pesquisas Renato Archer (CenPRA), Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, worked in Campinas in the Aurora project (Autonomous Unmanned Robotic Airship Remote Monitoring) system remotely piloted airship, which were demonstrated the 2nd. Communications Company Armored Army, capable of loads up to 25 kg, with the company Ômega AeroSystem and the School of Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Sao Carlos.

Any of these airships could I integrate and interact with the future National Center for Research and Monitorings Satellite, agreed in 2004 between the Brazilian Army and Brazilian Enterprise for Agricultural Researches (EMBRAPA).
