Thats debateable,right?

Yes, the 737 wedgetail and p8
I was more thinking of strategic transport and refuelers. China already has Y-30 and Y-8 in this weight class.
Much higher or just higher?

Do you have measurements for the bypass ratio of the ws-20?
It's significant. As I said, WS-20 is probably comparable to PS-90A based on stuff I read before.
The huge advantage the C919 would have over equivalent prop driven planes is that it is much faster and consequently much safer when it comes to evading enemy aircraft.
This leads to another advantage for awacs planes, they can get closer to enemy aircraft and get better radar images or alternatively jam the opponents radar better.
They already have a design in this class, that's turbo engine powered. It's called Y-30. If you bothered reading further back in this thread. You would see that they have other domestic engine products that's more advanced than WS-20, but a little further back in development that would be much better options.

Why in the hell is a turbo in a jet engine except for the fact that turbo means "turbine powered"
in which case all turbine fan as well as turbine props are turbo powered.

this is probably why I should not post stuff when I just wake up in the morning. My point is that they have a new generation transport in that class under development called Y-30 and it's turboprop powered.

Comparing the image with il76-90a images, one could say ws20 and ps90a are roughly comparable in intake size. ws20 does seem to have thicker lip and engine cowling, though. (and there are other differences when engines are looked at from the side)
