Aren't there options to reroute stresses? One can alter the inside structure to absorb the same stresses in a different way?
Only at a considerable cost in weight.
The bulkhead shape might've changed, or the space the weapons bay could have been extended into wasn't up against a bulkhead, and something else was there and that got moved.
EDIT: After taking a closer look at the new pic it does look like it might be the sawtoothing.

Actually, I'd say it's really warm. I've had to leave my jacket at home these past few days and walk around in a t-shirt. Might just be my Norwegian blood though.
