My father claimed to saw a dual side intake. canarded single seat fighter...or whats left of it.. apparently he said it was in a crash... in Yanliang back in early 80s late 70s. in another word...a J-9 prototype.

I always doubted his story.

but then I am not there.

I...actually would not be surprised. That kind of behavior was very common with China regarding military projects until only recently. It's one of the reasons why so many Western PLA analysts adopt the kinds of theories and frameworks they use to understand the PLA.

You really trusted his fantasy,huh?

you can choose to believe me or not to believe me. I know I don;t have a photograph or anything like that.

I am just telling you what I have heard from a source.

I even stated that I myself doubt that part of his story.

now you can choose to be snide about it or me in some way. it is your choice.

I choose not to believe and in fact moderator may even need to delete that comment since you have no backing. If you really doubt it, I can bet you will not even mention it in the first place. You just trying to create attention for yourself, stating lots of fantasy. Even bragging at the c919 development site but nothing concrete to back many of your claim.

You are quite the vicious person, I wouldn't invite you to any party :D

hehe, check the C919 thread... I posted a picture that I don;t tthink you can get it off anywhere else. let;s just leave it at that.

anyways back to J-10... how is my story related to J-10.

well, I heard this story from him before the first J-10 pictures ever hit the web.
for a long time I didn't pay much attention. he saw it back in late 70s early 80s. and told me the story once before I was aware of J-10.

2nd time I asked him in detail is after I saw the picture on J-10s. so I quizzed him again.

it could have easily been a banged up J-8-2 prototype. but he insisted it was canard. He is an engineer by profession. involved in some of the earliest computer aided finite element codes. and was involved in certain "(in)famous" civil aero project (lets just leave it off that.). so the chance of him mistaken is low.

===

as far as c919 goes.. I do have another nice picture at hand. bit more nostalgic and historical but interesting nonthe less. but again I don;t want to ruin this thread.
===

one more on C919.
brad perrett at aviation week he had some sources familiar with c919. I know who some of them are becuase they mentioned it to me one time. hehe. let;s just say that brad will not be able to form a sound opionion of the project by only talking to the persons he talked to :p

@ Lion ...

To admit I can understand Your daubts but I cannot understand this posting. Why should a moderator delete his claims only since he has no proven backing ?
It is a discussion here and he tells his opinion - not actually an opinion but a report he - heard from a quite reliable source. He even added that he has his own daubts and as such anyone can make his own opinion. As such it is simply a report like so many were posted also to different other things and nothing more. When You dont trust him, that's fine ... and if other's do or simply take it of what it is, then that's fine too.

If I had to delete all post of reports without any proper source I think SDF would contain not even 30 % of the things it now contains and as such would be quite a poor forum.

Anyway ... one final OT-question to i.e. !

Did I miss this C919-image or where do we have a proper C9191-tread ???

Anyway always more than interesting to read Your posts ... keep on.

Cheers, Deino

Why? You can see even a super moderator like siege crossbow...

So next time I guess I do not need prove I am involved in some J-41 sixth gen fighter project and can probably post some rumour...

Lion, I.E. simply expressed an opinion about something he heard from his father. There is nothing wrong in that, and there is nothing unprofessional about that. If he was knowingly spreading rumors just to make SD look bad, or to cause problems, that would be different. But he did not.

What is wrong is the way you are taking issue with it. To say you doubt it is fine, and I.E. responded respectfully to that...but then to attack I.E. and bring apparent problems you feel about him from other forums is what is wrong here.
