Is it just me or do the Singaporean soldiers look like middle school kids?

Well, not really. When you reach 17, the enlistment letters would be sent out to the boys. If you are studying, you can defer your enlistment. However, to get into college, they must enter national service for up to 2 years. There are some who go in immediately after graduating from secondary school but the numbers are small. For me, I completed my 3 year course in for a diploma at a polytechnic before enlisting. By then, I was around 20. Besides, asian guys tend to look younger than out western counterparts. :p

Hehehe. Well, kwaig, it's probably just, like most people, as you get older yourself, you see younger people and they look, well, young.

I see people in their mid and late 20s now days and think they look like really young teenagers and then simply realize that I am in my late 50s with all my kids grwon and the youngest nearing 30 now, and so that's just the way it looks to me...and to those younger kids I am really an "old man."

I am sure those "kids" are in their late teens, and maybe even early 20s. But I will tell you this...those automatic weapons they are carrying are all business.

Alas! I think you're right Jeff! I was talking to a bunch of college kids last evening and I couldn't help but wonder in the back of my mind that they're probably wondering what the heck is this geezer yapping about.. I'm also seeing more and more of my scalp as well not to mention receding hairline! Dropped hair ain't getting replaced I know that much!!

Apologize for the OT!
