Have we seen J-10B 1-02 before?

One thing just hit me ...does the J-10B have the IRST optics fitted? In all the pics i saw there's an opaque part where the transparency is supposed to be. It actually hit me when i saw PAK-FA T-50-5s IRST, it has a similar opaque part where the transparency should be (like on other prototypes 50-3, 50-4 etc.) and i assumed it doesn't have the IRST. Thanks.

Is the newly converted 124 brigade a composite brigade? If so, what are other components, J-11B?

Sadly no, as far as I know the Nanning Base (former 42. Fighter Division) consists currently of only thre Brigades ... the fourth is still missing or unknown:

124. Brigade at Bose/Tianyang, 125. Brigade at Nanning-Wuxu, 126. Brigade at Liuzhou all equipped with J-7H, as such the 124. is the first to convert to a modern type.

I relly thought that the J-10 was a larger fighter.
It gives you a good perspective this Picture.

If one looks much at GE, one discovers that J-10 is not much bigger than a J-7.

But J-8II is really huge, or rather hugely long!

J-10 just looks bigger because of its intake at the bottom which raised it higher, Same reason J-11 looks large.

There was a report in AFM that J10C is under going taxi tests and the maiden flight is due this year

Great if true because J10B regiment is soon to stand up

Just got a request from a member at the Secret Projects forum - and quite funny the same question at the CDF - regarding the ASCC reporting name "Firebird" reportedly assigned to the J-10. Does anyone know more about that rumour ???
