China Coast Guard and Patrol vessels

I wonder if the 12000t cutters have in mind a purpose similar to the Japanese PLH-31/32 ships, as China is set to vastly increase its nuclear fuel import for the nuclear energy boom, and the route to Australia passes through some of the worst pirate-infested waters in the world.

Has any China CG cutters ventured outside the ESC, SCS, and the YS?

CG, no, but that's because the CCG as we now know it is a new organisation, and the previous organisation known as the Coast Guards has a mission explicitly limiting it to the territorial waters (read, 12 nm) of China. MSA ships have however taken part in joint rescue training exercises with the USCG and others in the Pacific before. This however has little bearing on a possible future mission escorting nuclear fuel.

They are used to convoy spent fuel to England and take back Plutonium. This is not relevant to China.

One thing Chinese CG don't have to worry too much about are drug runners. The USCG spends a lot of their resources in combating drugs coming into the US. Most use high speed boats, planes and some of them even use submersibles!!!

If you think so, you should take a look at the Customs vessels based in Guangdong...

It's so confusing; CMS/CCG/FLEC/MSA etc.....& then their fleets....

would some kind enough to give us (SDF members) a list of cutters to above mention departments till to date & future inductions....

Thanks, and I will not do another until the renumbering of CMS and FLEC ships is completed.

But this is the list of newbuildings for CMS:

4 x 10-12,000-ton: Jiangnan

4 x 5,000-ton: Wuchang

4 x 4,000-ton: Huangpu
Hai Jing 3401
Hai Jing 2401
Hai Jing 1401
Hai Jing 3402

5 x 3,000-ton: Wuchang
Hai Jing 2305

5 x 3,000-ton: Huangpu
Hai Jing 3306

In practical terms it is not so complicated as it looks, since all state-level CMS (Hai Jian), FLEC (Yu Zheng), Sea Police (Hai Jing) and Customs (Hai Guan) now operate as China Coast Guard (Hai Jing).

MSA (Hai Xun) and China Rescue (Hai Jiu) are not included in CCG.
