Why the SSGN? Here we are talking about Capt. Hu and his group were rewarded for the type 095 SSN test in 2013.The SSGN mostlikely has a name type 096.Again I clearly said their group already got the reward in 2008 for the type 093A sea trial.

Look, the submarine crew and the reward thing is a nice theory, but the reports, as mentioned before, does not mention the 095.

The point here is not the name,but the track record of what those guys were,are and will do.If you follow their record,you will see they are the best sub operators in the PLAN and the SSF.They got involved the PLAN nuclear sub sea trials since 2002 and were rewarded both as a group and as a single captain for several times.So the 2013 reward is a clear indication that the new generation SSN(type 095) is in the sea.Combained with the recent Tang's speech,we had two strong official envidences that the type 095 SSN is not too far from us.

I think we've seen the Type 094 project winning first class merit before, but that was science and technology award, so for the developer of the project. They won the year after J-10 won it, which shows I think 094 does more of less match the expectations of PLAN. This division probably won it for the completion of sea trials of Type 094 and test launch of JL-2 or something along that lines. This signals Type 094 is now active.
no satellite photos verify anything you are saying here. Type 094 definitely did not start sea trials in 2002. First type 093 was launch around that time. There was no nuclear submarine that joined service in 2004.

First thing, don't treat everything out of xinhuanet as official news when it comes to PLA. It's not. Just looking at the language used here, does that look like an official piece to you or something a guy on Chinese bbs put together? That is a matter of opinion, but I would say definitely not the former. all the bolded part here are opinions of the writer, not official news.

they could've been doing sea trials for nuclear submarine multiple times. It could be anything, but you keep insisting it must be these new projects that you are dreaming about, when there is no evidence that Type 095 has even been launched.

Unit 92730 is 2 Submarine Base Yulin.
It has what is possibly the only operational Type 094, 409, which arrived in 2008, as well as the two Type 093 (407 and 408), arrived 2007-08.

if they are going to be so extensively refitted and modified even with Chinese engines why buy them in the first place?
another Su-35 deal, China likes to keep advertising these sales just to play down its own advancements which fits well with the foreign policy and the image they want to protray, so everyone still thinks, "oh yeah Chinese still are inferior to Russia so thats why they still buy Russian equipment, yeah no China isnt a threat" when infact the better knowledge ones who exactly know where China sits in terms of military technology

Let's keep Su-35 in the appropriate thread. The Amur deal is under discussion right now. Amur has a lot of engine related issues. Even if it doesn't, China prefers its own propulsion system over the Russian ones. And it also wants to install its own electronics and weapons. But there is a lot about the single hull design for shallow waters that China can learn from
