40 million a year?
Maybe it will be an arsenal ship of PN that will leave far out only when when needed? My guess is that some P-3Cs are probably going to be dedicated to it.

This thing is going to be a bear, but if anything goes wrong finacially, it will be the Russian bear. I would trust the maintence though.
This is a big improvement with the 4 perry frigates over the 6 type 16s. (16, right?)

this doesn't sound so good for China. Pakistan had been a major Chinese ally. The U.S's arming of Pakistan is obviously try to improve its relationship with it and form a comon front against Chinese interest. This is definitely not a good news

Dude, what are you talking about? Do you know of a project called Gwadar? It is going to be a major deep sea port built in Pakistan and the Chinese are funding most of the project. Basically, this deep sea port will serve as a massive trading hub AND will also have a major PLAN presence in the coming decade (I should also tell you that once this hub is formed, about 90% of the world's oil will be coming through that port). Also, Pakistan has been armed before by the US. Can you name me an incident in where Pakistan betrayed China?

Time to get your facts a little straight: the US is trying to arm India to provide a counterweight against China. The recent bid for the US trying to sell F-18 Superhornets and F-16's is proof of that. Also, there are reasons that Pakistan is being armed:

1. The fact that Pakistan has been the forefront of the war on terrorism; most of the terrorists in US custody have been handed over BY Pakistan.
2. The US recognizes that the serious conventional balance between Pakistan and India will force Pakistan to rely on its nukes a lot and therefore, create a dangerous situation during times of tension. Selling Pakistan high-tech weapons will even out that balance somewhat.
3. Pakistan is the one that has been urging the US to sell it high tech weapons for years now even though Pakistan is one of China's biggest allies.

Us is selling for money and so do is France !! Us is selling F16 to Pak and offering F16+F18 to India, later it will provide Pakistan with better raders and then again offer India some counter weapon . So the loop goes on ....

France is selling Agosta to Pakistan , and Scorpene to India. Later she will upgrade those Agostas to Scorpene standard and ask India to buy some new sonar .............

the u.s is selling to pakistan to tempt india into more advanced weapons purchases, therefor allowing india to act as a counterweight to china. unfortunately for the u.s, pakistans new weapons also go to china.

Thats why India is interested in the US tech than those finished equipments ! India wants to integrade US tech on Russian, indegineous hardware . Remember India is looking for F18 only for AESA radar !!

Pakistan and China have always been and will always be brother countries. If anything, the Chinese willbe much obliged to come and take a closer look at the Sprunce. An invaluable opportunity indeed and as for Pakistan, we could never forget how China came to you help in our hour of need in 1965.

Friendships forged in the heat of battle more powerful then the Sun itself.:)
