No doubt that China will act in accordance with the UNCLOS treaty that has not yet been ratified by the US.

That would be desired by other claimants no doubt, the US acts in accordance to it when it comes to territorial disputes and issues.

So what was the dispute with Iraq that prompted them to invade it and occupy it?

Something that was outside the bounds of UNCLOS and territorial disputes terrestrial or otherwise, and thus unrelated to my post. That is as far as I will get into this diversion.

Ah... so we understand each other then, so US have no territorial disputes with another nation, therefore it is able to act all high and mighty and stand on the mountain top and pointing fingers at other people.

But when it comes to more aggressive actions like invading and overthrown sovereign government, we are not suppose to talk about that.... because hey... you can indeed invade and bomb nations 1/20 of your size half around the world, but NO you cannot break a clause that US does not recognize when you deal with the people you are having dispute with.

You know what? By this logic, I think China should take a chapter on how US deal with problems, aka invading and bombing all the weak nations that have dispute with China. Because I'm sure when they do that, you will approve it correct?

Also may I add on how US dealt with their territorial dispute when it had them, remember the Mexican–American War? And I quote from wikipedia.

"The border of Texas as an independent state had never been settled. The Republic of Texas claimed land up to the Rio Grande based on the Treaties of Velasco, but Mexico refused to accept these as valid, claiming the border as the Nueces River. Reference to the Rio Grande boundary of Texas was omitted from the U.S. Congress' annexation resolution to help secure passage after the annexation treaty failed in the Senate. President Polk claimed the Rio Grande boundary, and this provoked a dispute with Mexico."

Want take a guess how US dealt with dispute peacefully? they had a sit down and a peacefully civilized chat with the Mexican government and in the end everyone hugged each other and exchanged gifts... Just kidding.

US send in the army and drove all the way into Mexico City and annexed half of Mexico territory when all is said done and over. I mean, I'm sure you have no problem with this right? You have no problem with China following the USA's action on Mexico territorial disputes by invade Philippine with force? Since all the buzz going on in the world right now is how China stealing and copy from America, why not copy this?

Or do you want me to give you a list of broken treaties that US have signed with the Native Americans and broke them one by one as they expand ever westwards? Do you think China should learn this from US on how to deal with it is weaker neighbors? Because US did it, I'm sure you don't mind if China follows it is example right?

Please learn some history before you actually type.

...bd popeye you are doing a great job moderating. Now I finally understand that "world news" constitutes China bullying Philippine and NOTHING else.

/sarcasm off

Seriously dude, make a new trend to vent your anger and we'll respond, don't be a f***ing coward bashing China on "world news" trend when clearly you want to express something else.

Jackliu, I know that you know better than this, and that you yourself are better than this.

In this one post you have criticized a moderator, attacked another member of the forum, and thrown the F-Bomb in the process, all of which are against the rules on SD.

Why do you do this? There's no need for it.

You can make your points without the language. If you have a problem with Popeye or any other moderator, PM them and work with them. I have found them all easy to work with over the years I have been here. Same thing when there's an issue with other posters.

If you can't work it out with the other poster, simply post you issues with reasoned dialog and then ignore them.

Some of us have kids and grandkids we show this forum to and have them read in an effort to educate them about naval matters. Your use of this type of language keeps us from being able to make SD the kind of place we want to bring them to learn.
