Marines of 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, Battalion Landing Team, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit wait to be extracted by helicopter during a rehearsal of the final exercise at Exercise Africa Lion 2012, April 16. AL-12 is a U.S. African Command-sponsored, Marine Forces Africa-led exercise involving various types of training including command post, live-fire and maneuvering, peace keeping operations, an intelligence capacity building seminar, aerial refueling/low-level flight training, as well as medical and dental assistance projects. The annual exercise is designed to improve interoperability and mutual understanding of each nation's military tactics, techniques and procedures.

Kelli Bordeaux is seen in an undated photo provided by the Fayettville, N.C. Police Dept. Authorities say 23-year-old Pfc. Kelli Bordeaux has been missing since April 14. Officials at Fort Bragg reported her missing to Fayetteville police two days later. Police are asking for the public's help in finding the Army private they believe may be in danger. The Kentucky Air National Guard Base is once again serving as the launching pad for military aircraft slated to appear in this weekend's 22-annual Thunder Over Louisville air show. The schedule features more than 25 current military planes and helicopters from the U.S. Armed Services and Canadian military, as well as variety of historic war birds. Highlights include the F-22 Raptor, a B-2 Stealth Bomber and F/A-18 Hornets.

[h=2]Marines navigate four-hour, jungle warfare endurance course[/h]
After completing a two-week training evolution at the Jungle Warfare Training Center, the Marines underwent the four-mile-long course through the Okinawan jungle, utilizing the rappelling, rope-crossing, improvised stretcher carry and other skills they learned. The 31st MEU is the only continuously forward-deployed MEU and remains the nation’s force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific region.
