Re: JH-7/JH-7A Thread

Any idea whether China is considering giving the JH-7 a more powerful engine? This is a very good fighter-bomber and further upgrades could go a long way for both PLAAF and PLANAF!!

It was already given an upgrade of Qingling II WS-9 II engines.. Comparable to mirage 2000 scenma engines. If it such a upgrade compare to old JH-7 that the PLAAF also start to deploy it.

If it really to be efficient. A new airframe And not engines are needed.

I just had a question, is it possible to dog fight at night? If not would it not make sense to have less maneuverable but reasonably fast planes engage in night missions?

Re: JH-7/JH-7A Thread

I just noticed that Huitong updated his entry on the H-6. He claims that the JH-7B will replace the H-6G. This is the first new information I have heard about the JH-7B in a while. I always believed that the plane doesn't exist since the J-16 would seem superior and easier to develop. Any thoughts?
I don't see how you can modify JH-7A as claimed in Huitong's item about JH-7B. The changes would be much more extensive than from the USN F8U-2 to F8U-3. If the project really exists it will by now have have a new name.

It's highly dangerous to dogfight at nite. Your answer is 'Yes'.
