Ok Guys last batch of these photos. Are any of these aircraft in operation or are they just R & D models & concepts?

My thanks go out to mpleio of mp.net for posting the photos. I wish the man did not have an aversion to captions.

^ We don't really know if all or even most of them models shown at airshows and exhibitions are real projects under development... but some of the models we saw at zhuhai around mid 2006 like pterodactyl, xianglong, the boxed winged xianglong, CH-3 all turned out to be real while a good number of sources including sinodefence stated they were most likely pipedreams... I did too, given the complexity of the box winged uav. Happily we were proven wrong about that a few months ago.

If I had to bet, I'd say the uav models shown are either real, or close to being real. And that's only the tip of the iceberg, given the UCAS and darksword models we've seen.

Once again me with something strange and esp. in mind of the latest Chinese fake I'm quite unsure. On the other hand "Weimeng" is one of the most reliable photographer around in China ... but maybe again a Psed Fake or even simply a "foreign" UAV taken by him !???

IMHO this isn't part of China's UCAV program. The Chinese heavy stealth UCAV is expected to have forward swept wings and is set to fly next year. If the scale model is flying now and bears no resemblance to the expected design, then it leads me to believe it is a separate project.

It could be a high altitude spy UAV, like the one used in the Osama Bin Laden raid.

I visited the Beijing Aviation show and read this news about a UAV like X-47.
