!!! i didn't know that!!!

but yeah i guess the plasma absorbs EM waves from all directions...

IMO cooperation between China and Russia on major parts of the project other than engine (in future maybe) seems likely too... esp since Russia doesn't have much funds left for R&D while China needs Russian experience and know-how... i guess cooperation is really a win-win for both sides...

well, china wants to build its own fourth generation aircraft. it has a relatively good amount of experience and know how from j-11, j-10, and fc-1. moneys always a hand. im not saying russian assistance or tech will not be called upon, but an indegedous 4th gen fighter really helps national pride and security.

i dont think chinas very interested in plasma stealth...yet. as with many other russian projects, the chinese may join in when the development begins finalizing, to cut the risk of failure out. perhaps the russians will figure out how to not make the plasma shield cover the nose or rear looking radar...

the Russians said they worked it all out, since they lack money, they got all the time in the friggin world, if Russia worked it out, China might acquire it, and instead of turning a fighter plane all stealth by edges and shape, China and delete the expensive parts and replace it with plasma, even if plasma doesn't work out or if it is countered, the other part will still make the plane stealthy

thats russian marketing for u. full of half truths:mad: . u can always expect them to spice up these tails. if i were hu, i wouldnt persue any plasma stealth tech until it has been carefully evaluated in chinese trials. better yet, the chinese can develop their own plasma tech from russian plasma tech. it might take a while(2020?), buts its a great way to turn 4th gen to 5th gen cheaply.

now now, im saying China should go for it WHEN Russia is 80% finalized with it, i mean, wait until the PAK FA is out using these tech and all the trials are done, and go after it

Since news of a twin engine Jian-10 as the Jian-12, might as well turn the Jian-12 to a 5th G with those tech, i might be able to be in the league of the JSF... maybe...

again, stay away from one liners

On the issue of J-xx, Russians aren't stupid enough to just allow China to come in late and get the product cheaply. China has to fund and co-develop some of those projects.

they really dont have a choice. if the russians refuse it, the projects likely to fail. other projects might grab china from the start, but playing it safe is the best way to go.

j-xx tvc=AL41. WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE? and why did china sign the al-41 deal? the al-41(whatever version china gets) will have more thrust than any of chinas existing engines. all it really needs is supercruise, which may be under development right now.

Re: J-xx

it can't be anything else. What I'm saying is that some member seems to suggest China can just come in the last moment and get a ToT really cheaply. If you want a ToT, you either fork the money to co-develop up front or pay a handsome fee later when it's finished.

well, the russians are probably to desperate for money to care if they get ripped of...im not saying china comes in the last, lastminute, but simply at a later phase of development. they woulds still pay a reduced price for the purchase of the system. by joining in later on, any technical experience and technology gained would be already be developed to a good degree, and as i said, russia really doesnt have a choice. refusing china would mean losing a vital customer. just look at the al-41.
