TRG's claims are so outrageous that they're cartoonish. The Czech team was randomly assessed a 25 point penalty for no reason by the evil Chinese sponsored judges, WTF? Seriously? How convenient that he's sworn to not release any names or details because he wants to compete at next year's crooked competition, and that NO ONE ELSE has ever said the same things as him because they too are scared! Sorry, but if you're going to make allegations like that, you need to name names.

From my experience, cheating like that really isn't in the Chinese spirit. Academic cheating is a different situation, because to them it's not cheating the other exam takers, it's cheating "the man", the system. When it comes to international competitions like that, Chinese leave it all on the battlefield, and they have no problems admitting that they're not #1 at something. So where's the need to resort to such laughably blatant cheating? A clean win for the most gold medals at the Olympics, but they feel the need to do this for some sniper competition that nobody knows about?

But oh well, who needs proof when all you have to do is make ad hominem "damn Chinese commies" attacks which everyone laps up, and they can easily refute any arguments to the contrary with, "lol, you must be a member of the 5 cent party!" Seriously, just look at how that ONE guy convinced everyone on the blog that China cheated with nothing but HEARSAY.

If this year's win is smeared by controversy, don't worry about it. Just wait until next year's competition, which I'm quite sure they will either win again, or place very highly. You can only be in denial for so long.

However, in July 1967 in less than 3 years, China detonated a Hydrogen Bomb with a yield of more than 1 Megaton.

The yield was 3 Megaton ( 150 Hiroshima bombs ).

@ Typhoonq,

I thought you mis-understand what tanlixiang28776 has said in #19. Almost all of the "text" is simply his quotes of some China-basher, he himself only said one sentence (the last one), although personally I think regarding the context of THIS THREAD, it is a bad way to put it.

Nevertheless, I think we really should PASS this "facts finding" or "logical derivation" already - the initiation of OTHER CHINA-BASHER is there, the kind-hearted logical debate (or persuasion), with those pre-established initiations, is truely waste of time.

China wins 4 champion out of 5 contest (the non-champion one is a runner up), is REALLY GOOD ENOUGH to say anymore.

Hehe, you know what, "more than 1 Megaton" is actually RIGHT, in a word playing game, regarding the actual 3 Megaton yield. Those word-playing-master can actually beat you to death, once they start to FACT-FINDING and TESTIFY to you, that "3 Megaton is indeed 'more than 1 Megaton'."

I just learnt to give up to such a master today.

Forum - not a place to be serious.

The 7.62 version is actually the one they probably used seeing as how ammunition is supplied by the organizers.

If someone had told me that a thread about snipers would lead to talk about nuclear weapons, I would have laughed.

Guess the joke's on me.

GLs have less range, less power, lower ROF (excluding the few automatic grenade launcher designs), and lower combat endurance (ie, fewer rounds carried), and is direct fire, so you have to expose yourself to shoot it.

I am also spectacle about accuracy. Shoot it at anywhere close to the max effective range and you are guessing largely. If you are engaging something 100-150m away, mortars are probably more accurate if you have got a good map fix on it.

So no, I don't think grenade launchers comes close to being able to be a good substitute for mortars.

ALso, coalition forces are having a hard time in 'stan not because of a want of firepower, but because the Taliban has become very good at not giving them targets to use that firepower against.

The closest infantry weapon to mortars would probably be RPGs or rocket launchers.

Although a LAW (Light Armored Weapon) or an AT-4 anti-tank weapon are another few that can do the job as well.

Took a while to get out but here is the Chinese take on the sniper world cup "incident":

According to the excerpt underlined many snipers from the European Union were jealous of China's decent performance last year and attempted to distract the Chinese participants by constantly objecting to the judge's decisions. One of the female Chinese members was a bit slow and her opponents immediately objected to the judges. They even threatened to quit the competition if the judges didn't deduct points from the Chinese team.

Classy....
