Can anyone post a summary of that article please, does it mention anything about the 4th gen fighter (avionics)?
Is that what the article says, or is it what you've heard from wforum or kanwa or whatever? (Is the 4th gen fighter is using the HMS you're talking about?)

It's written like a news article and being promotional of AVIC. Apparently six products will be shown in the zhuhai airshow this year
"as the one of the leading enterprises under the AVIC,613 institute will reveal 6 products which include flight simulator,HMS,HUD,targeting pod,dragon eye I and dragon eye II electro-optical turret"

I'm very keen to start seeing some of the displays from zhuhai in a few days, hopefully we'll get some specs on these systems and other new uav concepts.

What's that thing poking out of the side of the nose called again? Is it something like barometric something something? It's used for measuring air speed right?
Wouldn't this barometric something reduce stealth, especially that it seems to be made of metal?

(And my youtubing days on the PLA in general are long over lol, espicially when things are moving so fast and they remain as opaque as ever (and i was very very amateur). flattered that you still remember though)
You mean pitot tubes? If you scroll down on this thread on f16.net there's a pic of an F-22 with pitot tubes.. (second pic) I think they compromise stealth a little, but if they're small enough with LO shaping it's presence can be minimized.What's that thing poking out of the side of the nose called again?
