Argentina took a break on it's last game, letting some of the big stars rest. They still won easily. Brazil will not have this luxury. If they relax, they may not win, though they still qualify. However, this could mean they face Chile rather than Spain (depending on how that game goes. Spain has not done so well, but it could improve.

Italy disaster (I'm italian).

Fortunately there are still a lot of SouthAmerican teams to support. Now I'm a fan of Chile, secondly Portugal (not SA but still plays a SA-style Football), and thirdly Argentina.

Italy's defeat is expected. As you can see from the last Euro Cup, both Italy and France performed rather badly. They are not anything better in this world cup.

I feel sorry for North Korea. Personally, I think they did have a right tactic this time to use the formula 4:5:1. This is defensive. But the Ivory Coast was too aggressive (4:3:3); however, even they did defeat NK, the draw from Brazil vs Portugal makes them go home anyway.

the thread sank after USA was defeated:(
anyways, now we'll be seeing germany proceeding to face another very exciting match against argentina
lastly

battle of britain today was spectacular. superb stable performance by the germans
all of their goals were remarkable.
they truly play and share this game as a team

however that english goal shouldve counted
i cheered for both teams as i liked both teams, and therefore seeing such unfairness..i hope won't happen anymore

who'd thought this epic battle will inherit the trademark goal from several decades ago?

Yeah I can't wait to see Argentina vs. Germany. The Nazis vs. the Nazi hideout  But seriously that's going to be a good game. Those two teams have by far looked the best out of the tournament so far.

Who else things FIFA should introduce instant replay after the terrible quality of officiating in the World Cup?

it may help, but i think they need more professional refs too. some were part time teachers i've heard

Again, Deutschland vs. Argentina, like in the 2006 quaterfinals, and we won back than.
I think the defense could still improve somewhat, there were some moments aganist the English were they weren't paying full attention, might not go so well against Messi & co.

The Dutch & Braziliens also went ahead today, facing each other in the quaterfinals, with the winner playing Uruguay or Ghana in the Semifinals.
So, I believe on this side either Brazil or the Netherlands will make it to the final, while I'm pretty sure on the other side it'll be Germany or Argentina.
