Saw"Shutter Island" a few weeks ago, not too bad if you like suspense..

I never like "Alice in Wonderland" as a kid but I might take myself off to see the 3D version of it.

Actually the director of Clash of the Titans did admit being an admirer of Saint Seiya, and asked its creator to help design the costumes.

Went and saw "Kick Ass" and for those people who like comic style action movies I would highly recommend it as it was one of the very few movies i felt i got my monies worth as i left the theatre.. Yes as the pre release publicity suggested, its very similar to Kill Bill in style with well presented fight scenes. For something a little different there was one part where the action was. presented like a comic book.

As China is become more powerful, the west particular USA sees her as a potiential enemy. Read this, and you will find that the US no longer sees the former Soviet Union is no longer a threat...

Sadly, but truth is either some countries are too jealous of China, or just out another film to make big bucks at the expense of another country's reputation.

What are your thoughts?

It's just a movie. The producers of the film just want to make money. They think it's a good Idea to use China as the "Bad guys" instead of the Russians. The US Federal government has nothing to do with the motion picture Tv indstury.

That's not quite true. Movies that portray China as the "Bad Guys" will inevitably influence some people to view China as "Bad Guys" in real life. This in turn translates into votes for anti-China policies.

More directly, the reason that the producers chose China as bad guys indicate that they think there is a market out there for anti-China entertainment. That is a reflection of the views of the US public.

This movie is such an eclectic mixture of time periods, plots and inaccuracies that it'll be entertaining just to poke fun at it.

I've looked at some of the filming leaks on YouTube, as well as some of the ads floating around, and the style of the film is just so scatterbrained that I'm now confident that they had no clue what to make the Chinese out to be, and therefore relied on whatever stereotyped perceptions of China came to mind first.

You've got 50's style propaganda posters, AK styled rifles for the Chinese, random plastering of the PLA seal everywhere, strange mixes of Chinese soldiers using appropriated American vehicles, a weird map of the Chinese invasion route coming through Mexico in the south and even through Canada from the North, all tied into a plot about a guy trying to save his girlfriend.

I missed out on the first Red Dawn which my father said was ridiculous, so I'm looking forward to this mess, and how bad they make the PLA appear. .

They filmed the movie back in Sept-Oct 09. I haven't heard a word about it since. I'll be going to Comic Con this year in July. If they have nothing there then it might sound like bad news for the movie. You'd figure this would be a summer release yet it's not scheduled until Sept which is usually a dead month for movies. Usually the studios release bad movies in Jan and Sept. Another possible reason there has been little info coming out for the movie is it might not get released at all and get shelved or relegated to DVD. Another possibility is with the stuff surrounding the Google in China conflict recently, the studio may be nervous releasing this movie because China could outright ban this studio's movies from ever playing in China which has now become Hollywood's 2nd largest market for their big budget movies and still growing to eventually make more money than the North American market at home.

The Chinese are mostly S.Koreans perhaps. One of the actor Major Lo, is of S.Korean decendant.



As for equipment, the PLA in the movie are using AK 47? Nowadays, the PLA use QBB-95 - 5.8x42 mm.

This film will definately be banned in China. Period.
