Japanese sinks stealth boat in whale wars!

After watching and reading various sources the hole incident reminds me of John F Kennedy during WWII when his PT boat was cut in half by a Japanese destroyer.

Yes they made a error in thinking the Whaling ship would adhere to the Rules and not run them down like a cat on the Highway.

Here is a sight that has video from all three ship Ady Gill, Bob Barker and the Whaling ship.

I don't know what the rules are but watching last season Paul Watson doesn't follow rules himself... or he makes them up along the way. It looks like the Andy Gill clearly gunned its engines at the last moment into the path of the Japanese vessel.

I believe so yes. I know the North Korean Navy has similar craft.
Yes and no. Yes it can ride 'through' a wave, thus under water, but not in the same way as North Korean semi-submersibles, which take in ballast water to submerge just like a submarine, except not completely in most cases (hence "semi" -submersible). Some take it further and can submerge completely, but can barely move forward underwater, like "lay and pray".:coffee:

The Video taken from the Ady Gill shows them BS while siting on top of the boat, and not trying to deploy any thing against the Whaling Ship.

Yes they had to start the engines to try to get out of the way though I don't know if the Ady Gill had a reverse gear.

The Ady Gill lurched forward because you can see the wake behind forming. Which also maybe why the camera went awkward and the crew member looked off balance panicking at the end of their video and not because of collision. If you take a look at the Bob Barker video clearly the Ady Gill's bow was in front of the Japanese vessel when contact was made going under for moment. So the Ady Gill footage ends before contact was even made. It would be stupid if it was intentional so the benefit of doubt goes to they wanted to go reverse not forward. I have no idea if the controls would make that easy mistake.

Based on the photographs I saw, they clearly indicate that the Andy Gill is on the starboard bow of the Shonan Maru, which, under rule 19 of the Inernational Rules for the prevention of collision at sea, makes the Shonan Maru the "give way" vessel.
But the photographs also indicate that the Ady Gill is blatantly ignoring rule 21 which states

" When from any cause the stand on vessel finds herself so close that a collison cannot be avoided by the action of the give way vessel alone, she shall take such action as will best avert a collision.
I wonder if the Ady Gill's skipper can provide us with any evidence of doing so. If not, then putting the lives of himself and his crew at risk does nothing to help the anti whaling movement.

Assasinsmace bladerunner pointed out that the Shonan Maru was in violation of Rule 19 though he did point out Ady Gill was also in violation of Rule 21.

Like I said before Paul Watson seems to make up the rules as he goes so rules don't really matter when the guy complaining breaks the rules himself. Like when he rammed into the Japanese ship because he was mad they had just hoisted up a whale in front of him when it never happened before on his watch. Where in the rule book does it say he can do that?

I'm not taking a side. I just don't like these Sea Shepards who are doing it more for the cameras than saving the whales.

Does that give the Whaling ship the right to run down the Ady Gill with Murderous intent?

Yes Sea Shepherds might collide with the Whaling ship on occasion.
Do you deny that the Whaling Ship intentionally tried to run the Ady Gill down like a Cat on the Highway?

You don't know what the intent was. Yeah it did look like the Japanese vessel did turn in but not enough to aim for the Ady Gill. The Ady Gill lurching forward was what put it in front of the Japanese ship. The TV show clearly shows Paul Watson will lie. So where are those authorities to arrest him for all those things he did breaking the laws of the sea on camera before this incident? I would actually have more respect for these people if they actually owned the actions they take instead of lying about it in front of cameras for everyone to see. What's the point of laws then if anyone who thinks their cause is just can freely rewrite or make-up the rules as they go along? And who has that authority? Let me guess...

Yes maby they should not have allowed themselves to stay one spot for more than a few minutes.

What if their ship was not maneuverable enough to perform some last minute maneuver because some vindictive ships Capitan decided to play chicken with a ship a tenth its size.
