Actually it is a public holiday in Singapore tomorrow too. But not Thanks Giving, it is a Malay festival in our country known as Hari Raya Haji (don't know if it is a general Muslim holiday or not) anyway, I'll take this opportunity to wish everyone in SDF Happy Thanks Giving, or if you are Malay or Muslim, Happy Hari Raya Haji!

Enjoy the day, the holidays and the deals on Black Friday!

We went shopping on the black friday and scored big. Let me list a few things we got...

A 1080P LCD HDTV
TV stand for the LCD
Blue-ray DVD player
A laptop
A few small things like flash drives and SD cards
BTW, Wal-Mart had this awesome DVD sale with a whole bunch of $2 ones, $5 ones and $10 blue-ray ones. We actually found many good ones...

A satisfying shopping day! We haven't done this in a while. Last time we did black friday shopping was in '05. Since every year we usually split the holiday with my parents in College Station and with my wife's family in Dallas, we don't usually get to shop a lot. This year we decided to stay at home and do some shopping ;);)

Any turkey left over, we never seem to have much left over despite what ever size turkey i buy.

I once read to save food, one gives out small portions, and have food spread out between the kitchen and dining room. That way people cant be bothered to get up for seconds.

You are trying to make us recession hit senior citizens and pensioners envious
Anyway Im saving up for Peking 31 sleeps to go
What Brand TV did you buy?

Well, it's not a good idea to "save food" in my family. My mom won't be happy if we leave anything uneaten at the end of a meal. So no matter how it tastes, it is highly adviced to finish ALL food in my parents house. We spent the Thanksgiving day at my parents' place (and came back home that night to get ready for the black friday) and I almost got into trouble for not being able to finish the turkey. As my mom was just about to start her customary chant of "I'm not a good cook. You guys hate my cooking", I grabbed the last piece and save everyone :D:D:D

Happy thanksgiving y'all!

I am about to fall over from turkey coma.... but my uncle had one heck of a gravy.... it tasted like the fried red chicken feet you get at a Cantonese Tea House!

How was your turkey?

WE dont celebrate thanksgiving over here but we have Turkey for christmas, but this year because were gonna peking in jan , and thus missing out on our diving activity. Weve decided to do it early. WE Dive for lobster, abalone etc so this year we gonna have a a dozen lobsters minimum size going on 2lbs but usually 3lbs avg , aussie king prawns 6-8 inches long, scallops abolone, yum.

My brotherin law has a friend whoses a commercial lobsterman so if the weather is against us or theres lean pickings we can get some off him, but hey FREE is always better, tastes nicer to. But for the last ten yrs the spots we head to we never fail to score more than we need and we give them away.
One year we went to a spot where there were crays that were close t0 24+" head to tail, some people said they were the pack horse variety.

So there we go folks cold lobster for lunch and lobster in blackbean sauce with other seafood condiments for dinner washed down with gallons of Hinekein or Stella Artois Beer.

Now thats gonna make up for no Crissy Pres.

Over the weekend, I finally found and tried some Chinese-style yogurt! It's as delicious as I once had it back in the day...
