All these discussions fall apart apart from what Plawolf said about maybe hiding the true capabilitys

Because simply put the Type 071 LPD is a huge LPD, it's internal capacity is msssive

Hanger can load 4 x Z18 the well deck can load 4 x LCAC

There are two further compartments in front of the well deck to handle more vehicles storage

The Type 071 has a serious lift capacity in mind , why ? For fun ? No for blue water amphibious operations
All these discussions don't "fall apart" because of one poster's unverified speculations. The fact is that the 071 does indeed have a huge capacity. The problem is that the 726 just doesn't have enough surface area to carry the 071's huge capacity to shore in any significant fashion. That's the point you keep missing.

Yes we have already seen these 3 empty LCAC in the well deck !!

Why are they empty what are they transporting, air ?

We will probably see China land a man on the moon before we see a loaded LCAC inside the well deck

From other photos of same report they were loading infantry on them.

That photograph really shows how big the 071 is, compared to the 056 that is closer to the viewer.
It's the other way around - it's how small 056 is comapared to any 100m+ combat vessel around the world. 90 meters lenght and 2 meters above the water doesn't make you 'blue water' combatant (at least we all agree with that - the only area those could come in help is SCS). At least not in the sea state above 3 which with it's enormous freeboard compared to anything other floating in the ranks of the navy all around the world would be a task to accomplish. I know it looks 'modern' but let's be real.

So don't get a false image.

It's not a false image.

The original comparison was that the 071 was so much bigger than the 056, even when the 056 was closer to viewers. It was never his intention to compare the 071 with other equivalents. It was also never his intention to compare the 056 with other "100-meter" ships. It was a simple comparison between the 071 and the 056. And conclusion was the 071 was so much bigger than the 056.

Nothing wrong with that at all. It was a straight forward comparison. There was absolutely no intent to mislead anyone.
