If only he "polices" other naval ship wiki pages for sources as much as Type 056. Tried to pull the same trick for the 054A entry and now owns the 055 entry. Suggest cross checking with sources from here like Jeff's records.

those are the 8th and 9th from WC shipyard. I'm not sure which next one you are referring to.

also the 10th 056 from hp shipyard should be joining service soon.

One thing bothered me for a long time. Why only 8 HQ-10? Variants with more launch tubes are only marginally larger in size and deck space. In recent NAVIDEX they put a 21-shot RAM launcher on a 2000 ton class ship with ease.

Consider this is basically her only air defense measure one would expect at least a deeper magazine.

What threats is this ship expected to face that would require a 21-round magazine?

I was thinking the same thing, and was going to post on the subject, i.e why only 8 HQ-10's. Out of all the threats, an air attack would be the most dangerous, and likely. 8 short range missiles could soon be used up, particularly if facing several attack planes, and not all your missiles are guaranteed to hit. Plus, if the ship has survived an air attack, there is always the likelihood of a follow up attack.........and it ain't much use if you've got a launcher, with no missiles left.
The 8 cell HQ-10 is also being fitted to some 053 Frigates, to replace the HQ-7, that was also an 8 cell, but did have reloads.

Whatever threat it is designed or expected to face, it would be highly likely to have more than four targets need to be taken care of before having chance to replenishment.

Really? How about another corvette? Or a Houti-style shore-based ASCM attack? Or a couple sub-launched ASCMs? I think its current 8-round launcher is plenty enough to handle this level of threat. A 056 is not designed or intended to defend against a determined attack from multiple fighters or ships. If you send a 056 into an operating area where it could realistically face that level of threat, you have already failed in your planning. You could extend your reasoning and ask why only the HHQ-10 launcher and not a pair of full blown 730s or even 1130s instead of just those 30mm RWS? It could easily face a multi-axis attack. Why only 4 ASCMs on the 056? What if it has to face 8 enemy ships?
