I think you might have gotten the same one for 41st and 42nd. Looks like deyang was launched 2 days ago.

which would explain why the 2 056s posted look both to have come out of HD shipyard.

Now there was a 056 launched earlier this month at LiaoNan that was the 41st.
Still, 41 luanched and 30 commissioned in such a relatively short period is amazing.

Compare the capability of this ship, with forty 41 launched for the PLAN:

to this much smaller US Coast Guard Sentinel Class, Fast Response cutter which has launched 22 and has 19 in commission.

Of course the US is launching them from a single yard and not four...but none the les, the Chinese are showing what they are capable of in terms of production with the Type 056.

If you like 'walking on the walls' that's a ship for you without a doubt, Jeff!

Good luck doing time there!

Japan is putting those numbers in their CG force so that you can admit that's fast. But for such a ship it's nothing impressive.

What numbers of Japan?

Well, the Coast Guard Fast Response vessel has a mission that is wholly different than the Type 056. It is not meant to be a combat vessel.

So I am not so much comparing missions, armaments, etc. I was just pointing out how quickly the PLAN is building the Type 056 which is a very decent Littoral Combat vessel and multi-mission at that.

Very impressive build rate at the four yards, and they are all building the same vessels to very good specification.

Why can you not simply say "both China and Japan have been putting up impressive CG builds"? It doesn't make the build rate any less impressive just because someone else can do similar things.

And if you think building CG ships is easy, can you give some explanation as to how fast others have been putting out similar ships? If the likes of UK, Germany etc can build 2X or 3X as fast, then China's and Japan's performance is not impressive. If the fastest that everyone else can build a CG ship is as fast as China and Japan have, then it is still impressive. Don't you think?

The cost of Sentinel is $65M per cutter .... while Type 056 cost is 600M Yuan or roughly $87M

Yes, its strange as known reliable sources i.e Chinese WIKI and Henri.K both have listings for 42 056 launching's.
We could all sit down for a while and work the true number out, by looking at the launching dates but there are so many of these vessels now, that it seems like a chore to do so. :)
I'am sure when the next 056 is launched, the mystery will be cleared up?

i believe there have been 42 launches. As I said, we don't get pictures of all the launches from LiaoNan and WuChang.
