The only thing intresting about the Indian Project 17 are the Barak missiles, does the 054A need such a missile to compliment closer ranger air defence maybe? In most other field the 054a should have similer or outperforming capabilities compared with the P17. Oh yeah, the P17 weight are 500-900 tons heavier too and got 2 choppers with the 054A only 1 chopper.

Wonder what kind of fire control the P17 Shivalik uses, since the main radar are imported from Russia, I am guessing its Russian too, at least for the main search radar? its a nice and powerful radar, but I am still abit of sceptical to the effectiveness russian fire control system tbh, just like the russian S-300 SAM compared with the chinese HQ9 SAM, the S300PMU2 are proberbly better with longer range etc, but the firecontrol system are way more backwards compared to the HQ9.

Pretty sure Brazil is more developed than India.

i don't know and i haven't been there but both countries have done a remarkable job at improving their global standing. But i would honestly lean more towards India just due to the fact they have a lot more indigenous development going on in every industrial field.

I also think that BRIC countries should be more supportive of each other.

No need to visit. Just look at their ranking on human development index, which takes into account infrastructure and development. Brazil is ranked as High at #75 while India is a developing country at #134. Also average Brazil income is $10,400 while India is $2,900. In no way is India more developed, in fact Brazil is much more developed than India.

In military terms, India has more projects on the go. I would agree, but civilians sector, I cannot make an assumption.

Brazil does not need to invest huge amounts to build a military industry due to relative regional stability.

India and China have spent huge amounts on military projects both are still lagging, to an extent, behind other militaries. Brazil does not need to get into that race.

The fourth flotilla to Somalia visited Philippines capital Manila. We got some picture of 525 here. 526 was also in the flotilla, but I don't think it did port call at Manila.
