Let's keep improving and updating this list. It can be our official SD list for the Type 054A. I have not been able to get on that Chinese site, but here's the info I have, including Forbin's update regarding the one commissioning:

I am keeping the official copy. Others can feel free to point out changes that are needed and then I will update the master and keep it up to date here on SD. We can certainly do better than what is going on with the English Type 054A Wiki page.

576 & 577 were also commissioned this year on the 16th January! :)

Indeed a good year for Type 054A programme

4 commissions and 2 launches with a possible 3rd or 4th launch before the year is out

If they manage to commission another FFG that would make 2015 biggest year for Type 054A commissions

They launched 4 x Type 054A in 2011 so that would equal that record

Either way it's moving strong

Regarding the 054A '578' which was commissioned on the 21st Sept 2015.........it has been noted that this vessel, in particular took a very long time from being launched to being commissioned, and there is speculation as to what the possible reasons for the delay was.
Anyway.......to show this, i found this graph on a French forum, showing the building times in number of days of the 054A vessels constructed so far, at the HD and HP shipyards, from launch to commissioning (if i've understood the translation correctly!).

Anyway, that's 4 Frigates inducted into the fleet this year.............and with 3 Destroyers, 2 x 052C, and 1 x 052D being also inducted since the end of Dec 2014............that's quite an added punch to the Chinese Navy surface fleet!

A lot of ships sure but in fact DDG/FFG number no change 25 and 49, older ships replaced one by one by better ships ofc, the more big change is for Corvettes all 056, 22 now in more of Houxin/037-IG and Houjian/037-II which are 22 and 6 for a total 50.

An Navy " old style, cold war " very big for units number /organisation similar to Soviet Navy in many ports about 10 importants for each Fleet ! in more with language very difficult for know, understand.
USA have the more big Navy with big units Sqns etc... but consolidated into fewer ports much more easy for her.

That's right...............total numbers of Destroyers and Frigates are remaining pretty much the same, and this will probably be the case upto 2020........as the remaining Luda class Destroyers, and the earlier generation of the 053 Frigates are retired.......but the important thing is the fleet is being made up of a larger percentage of very modern, sophisticated ships! :)
